Sand Creek Station Golf Club

Very windy conditions made the course difficult. We got stuck behind a 6-some but the course marshalls did their best to speed them up. The course makes you make some decisions off the tee. The driving range mats were awful, and the grass was not open yet, which made warming up impossible. Putting green is very nice. Hole #10 is a 600+ yard beast into the wind, and is very fun. The employees were very friendly and course was in good shape.

I happened to be visiting Wichita and had my clubs so I decided to make the short drive up to this course after reading the reviews and looking at the hole by hole layout using a golf app. The course was in great shape even coming out of winter. I played from the medalist/men's tees which made it enjoyable and still somewhat challenging. Bunkers and hazards could always come into play on landing areas of drives and approach shots so you have to place your shots accordingly. Greens have a lot of undulation but roll true. They were quick but not slick. Nice practice facilities with free range balls and good bunker and chipping practice area. I hope to get the chance to play this course again. Newton, Kansas is fortunate to have this gem of a course.

This is one of the most beautiful courses I've ever had the pleasure of playing. The environmental/weather conditions were terrible, we were playing in 50mph winds. But just playing the course was extremely satisfying, even with the conditions. Beautiful layout, the bunker placements are challenging without being overwhelming. This course very much makes the player learn ball control. Whether it be to avoid bunkers or water hazards, the course again, provides the challenge without being overwhelming. I very much recommend this course to players.

I have played this course quite a few times and am never disappointed. The course has an awesome layout and if it feels too easy just move back a tee box, it becomes a whole different challenge! The GPS on the golf carts is also a cool part of the experience!

It sure was fun, and not at the same time. It was a little beat up, but it was February. The greens are big, mean, and bumpy. I wish I was better so I could play a course like this.

Staff was friendly and helpful and course was in good condition

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Greens are in great shape, very challenging but fair, they roll very true,receptive and challenging. I wish I could say the same for the fairways. The course has had a great amount of rain recently and the fairways are not very good, they have a large amount of water damage, no grass and a lot of bare areas. With that said, I would like to play the course again under better conditions. The course would offer all the challenges any golfer would want

I have played several different places in Kansas and this place is second only to Prairie Dunes. Absolutely fantastic golf course that would be ranked very highly if it weren't located in Newton, Kansas. The front nine is absolutely gorgeous cut around Sand Creek. The course is in absolutely fantastic conditions. If you're near Newton this is an absolute must play. We drove down from KC and came back the same day just to play it for ourselves. We will definitely be back.

Not only is this course fun to play but it has been in top shape every time I've played it. If your looking for a great course to play this is by far the best in the area. You can't beat the price that also includes free range balls, chipping, and putting greens that are a golfers dream. Inside the every cart is a state of the art gps system that gives you exact distances so you never guess on any swing. Don't just take my advise this is a course you must play, if not today than this weekend!

I played here twice in April 2015, both days were cold and windy and not many players. The layout was interesting and the wind made it play quite hard on some holes. The course condition was very good, and the staff were very friendly. Excellent value.

We started as a twosome and joined up with another pair on the second hole. After that the pace was perfect. Considering that it is still winter the course was in great shape. I can't wait to play it again in the spring.

My only problem was finding the right tee boxes.. .this place is great.

Course was in great condition, fairways were excellent , was a windy day and the only down side was the speed of the greens, I normal have no issues with my shots holding a green, was not able to hold any shot to any greens and putts were extremey fast, will definitely play this course again and again , even with the fast greens, best Wichita area golf course

We went to play with a noon tee time it was nice they had plenty of cold water on coarse and even brought out iced down clean towels . Made the experience much nicer

I read about this course on golf digest. For $25 I was able to play as a single and finish in under 3 hours. Staff was very friendly and the course and facilities are in fantastic shape. If I ever come through this area again I will almost certainly stop and play a round here. Great course!

Wow! This course exceeded expectations and left me wanting to play it again. One of the nicest and well kept courses I have ever played. Staff was super friendly and accommodating and the course was a gem. Highly recommend this course to any avid golfer

I would become a member here but I live in south KC. The course layout was amazing, lots to look at on each tee. Each hole has its own character that puts this 18 hole puzzle together creating a master piece of a course. The course is well maintained by the grounds crew, just not by the players. I think this gets a lot of public play by golfers who don't fix divots on tee boxes or in the fairway (greens were fine). This is a course that must be played more then once to score low. Lots of blind shots or landing areas due to the native grass and table top greens. Surrounding the greens are 18 inch collars then 3 inch rough. So don't miss greens! Play here you will not be disappointed! I played on a Sunday afternoon- course was wide open.

This course is in exceptional shape. The fairways were in great shape and the greens were perfect. The driving range was all set up before 7AM to get ready for the round. If you are ever in the Wichita/Hutchinson area, this is a must play.

Course layout is very good. Greens and some fairways were under repair with new seeding. Should be better in a couple of weeks. Had to change carts at 10 due to low charge. Very average experience this time, but has been better in the past.

Whenever my job brings me to Wichita I always try to play this course. It is one of my favorite courses. Course is usually in great shape and the greens are challenging and FAST.
