Love this pete dye course at Trump Nat’l
Impeccable service and friendly staff
Tough greens and narrow fairways along the slopes
I recommend it. But those +1000.00 green fees are very $$$
Hot deal 100 USD
Very nice on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
Rain was planned in the morning so Hot deal was on. And we had the course for ourseves!
More than perfect for the price.
Tight clurse
Fun layout. Lots of 4 irons off tee to keep in fairway. Had fun while getting great views of the ocean.
Best conditions right now
Ive played TNGC a dozen times. Teed off 1/15 7am. Course is in the Best shape I’ve ever seen. Greens were lightning fast. We set the pace. Finished in 4h20m even snapped a bunch of photos and vids. We also stopped for a bfast burrito at the turn, which was excellent for $12. Nows the time to play! January 2024.
Incredible views and a real test of target golf
If you let your political views (either way) relax for the day you will really enjoy the Trump LA experience! This is a diabolical Pete Dye design that rewards good shots but really penalizes bad shots so think ahead of whether you keep the big dog in the bag on many holes. The views are the best in L.A. with Rancho Palos Verdes cliffs and stunning views of Catalina Island along the Pacific Ocean. The course isn’t long unless you play from the tips, but there’s no real bailout zones so you are constantly faced with bunkers on the right and brush on the left or vice versa. If your ball finds the brush it’s a lost ball so expect to score above your handicap, and if it’s a friendly game you might need a breakfast ball, let alone a lunch and dinner ball. :-) Definitely worth the visit if you can afford the greens fees as you get private club meets resort course meets championship layout open to the public, a rare golf experience. A must-play if you’re golfing in the South Bay LA area! 💪⛳️
Outrageous to be open….disappointing
Booked a round this past Friday and was told by both the pro shop and GolfNow that they would classify the course to absolutely be in solid playable conditions even after we received an email about maintenance (even though we couldn’t cancel for a refund at that point) Get to the course to see the greens absolutely COVERED with sand to the point where you couldn’t even putt through them. Disgraceful to still be charging so much or even allowing people to book. A bucket list course ruined by greed
Aerification
No notice that they aerified the greens the day before we went. Completely covered with sand. I got an even more discounted rate in a Saturday than j did this Wednesday morning and was unable to get any sort of discount because it was already the “discounted” rate.
Very solid course for the price paid. Pace of play was a bit slow as expected on a Sunday, was not able to finish last 3 holes before dark when I had a 2:20 tee time. Starter was very friendly, awesome guy. Overall great course and would visit again.
Best public course in Los Angeles county
Say what you want about his politics, but Trump’s golf course in Rancho Palos Verdes is a real gem. It’s typical astronomically expensive, but if you can snag a “Hot Deal”, the course may be worth it. There are amazing views on almost every hole and the course conditions are as close to pristine as a public course can get… fun fact: the Catalina wine mixer from the movie Step Brothers was actually filmed right behind the snack shack of the course with Catalina in the background.
The Views
The starter was awesome and I really enjoyed talking to him as he’s been there since inception. Course was in great shape. If you aren’t hitting it straight be prepared to lose a lot of golf balls. One random in our group ran out on the back 9 :) Play was a little slow and some holes cart path only but the marshall came out to help which was nice. The views of the ocean and Catalina are amazing!
Cart path only is horrible
Course conditions were great but why cart path only. I wish I brought a cart and just walked it. So annoying having to drive a cart and then walk to ball then go back to cart etc. it created a slow pace of play and we left at the 15th (no Marshall) with 2 groups stacked at the box in front of us. I wouldn’t come back knowing it’s cart path only.
