Bear Creek Golf Complex - Bear Course
The Bear Course is one of two courses at the Bear Creek Golf Complex; it is a championship-length course while the other, the Cub Course, is an executive length course. The Bear Course is an inland, links-style course with rolling fairways and well-manicured greens. Strategically placed bunkers situated throughout the course add some challenge to the course. A round of golf on this course can be played in less than four hours. The Bear Creek Golf Complex, in addition to the two courses, also offers a full grass driving range, two putting greens, and a short game area with a bunker.

Teed off at 12:00. Was told in pro shop that there was a high school tournament ahead of us, the last group of which teed off at 10:30 who we might catch up to (??).
We did catch up to them on the 9th hole. Looked like they were going at about a 5-1/2 hour pace. Talked to the gentleman in the pro shop again. I was curious to find out how this ridiculously show play was not only forgiven but expected. No tolerance however, from the ranger (not present this day), when somebody in our foursome hits a couple of bad shots and we fall half a hole behind the group in front of us. We were told we could replay the front nine again so it wouldn't have to wait. Gee thanks, problem solved??
Great design, fair condition
Love the Bear Creek Bear course. Course conditions were ok, Fairways were spotty with a lot of brown and bare spots. Greens were in good condition, however. Pace was not great, took 4:20 to play. Biggest complaint is that there is no drinking water available on the course. Of course you can pay $5 for a $1 water bottle!
First time at the course. We played the bear and had a great time. Cool layout
Played late Sunday morning and course was wide open. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in much better shape. All were in great condition, especially considering the lack of rain. Staff awesome as usual.
Nice job Bear Creek!!
very good shape
course is in great shape forthistime of year. greens could be cut down to roll faster
Same problem as before no water stations on course. Need to correct
Great round! Course was in great condition and no hold ups at all!
Bad condition for sure!
Greens were ruined due to recent aerification. I wasn't even warned about it! I paid 33 bucks a person for 3 people. I wish i would have known ahead of time but they did a great job of hiding it. No water in ANY ball washers. Bathrooms were very stinky. Gross. They are definitely SLACKING HERE. I won't be returning for atleast a month in hope that they step it up. I'd attach pictures but it's just embarrassing. If you're okay with your ball jumping 4 times in any direction then go rip yourself off here. Atleast have an aerification warning and discount. Make sure to bring a club for the dirt because there's dead spots everywhere. One of my favorite courses has officially been removed from my list. Thanks.
Mangineer17. Thank you for playing golf with us. I'm sorry to hear you felt you were not informed of our recent aerification. Please note we did put alerts on our tee sheets as well as through GolfNow. We will make sure to share your message with our GolfNow Partners as we want to make sure our customers are aware of our conditions at all times.

Nice course, friendly staff.
If you enjoy a links style course this course is right up your alley. There isn’t a lot of trouble but it does require strategic ball placement off the tee and on approach shots.
Better Courses for the Money
I've played this course when it was in great shape during the summer months. That has not been the case for at least a couple of years...maybe more. There are a many areas of the course that are burned out, or where there is no grass at all. The greens were bumpy and slow. As an avid Arizona golfer, I get it. This is the time of the year that our courses suffer the most. That being said, there are many other, and better options to play golf in this city for $40. This course shouldn't be charging more than $30 max on the weekends. I suspect this is one of the courses that tends to cater to the winter visitors as opposed to the AZ golfer...seems that way. If you want to be underwelhmed and overcharged for a round of golf, this is your track.
Fun course. Has some great holes. It's a shame it's burning out already in May. I'll play again but hope they water more. Speaking of water. Please put some on the course.
