Bear Creek Golf Complex - Bear Course
The Bear Course is one of two courses at the Bear Creek Golf Complex; it is a championship-length course while the other, the Cub Course, is an executive length course. The Bear Course is an inland, links-style course with rolling fairways and well-manicured greens. Strategically placed bunkers situated throughout the course add some challenge to the course. A round of golf on this course can be played in less than four hours. The Bear Creek Golf Complex, in addition to the two courses, also offers a full grass driving range, two putting greens, and a short game area with a bunker.

Course in great shape coming out of overseed and fun to play. And great value.
Condition good after overseeding
Still cart path only, but course in very good shape. Greens a bit slow , but are starting to roll better. One of the better practice areas in town. Round was 4 1/2 hours. Slow, but not bad for Saturday and cart path only.
Staff assisted with carrying my heavy bag on the front and back end of the round. Fairway grass is in nice shape after reseeding and the greens were in great shape albeit with new plush grass they are slow!
Food quality and service were each good. They have a nice deal with pay whatever your score is that’s what you pay for a beer if you buy some food with the beer.
Checkin was slow due to computer issues but the staff was nice through the process.
Course was is really good shape, the value was definitely worth it. Views/landscaping/layout wasn’t great but I would play here again.
The grass in the fairways was tall and the greens were slow. Had a great round of golf even though it was 101 degrees.
Better than I expected
We havent played here for 4 or 5 years. Last time it was not in good shape and we decided we didn't need to come back. Decided to play and was pleasantly surprised. They had just finished overseeding and while the greens were slow, the rest of the course was in decent shape. If you strayed too far off the fairway you could be in some dirt, but still not bad. Will come back.
I haven't played the bear in a while.. And last time I left my only negative online review.
Happy to say this time I was impressed. Only 3 days after opening from overseed and they did it right this time. Greens were rolling true (although expectedly slow) and fairways were lush. They even overseeded the rough which makes it much more payable if of the fairway then the Bermuda. It was busy but pace was good and they had a Marshall on the course keeping people in check on a Monday am.
All in all, I was happy.
Worst conditions Ive ever seen
Unless you want to play in dead grass and dirt stay away from here. Almost didn’t tee off due to course conditions. Greens might as well have been concrete. Our group of 4 people ended up being 3 at the turn due to the terrible course conditions. Bear Creek should notify people online when booking that the course is in horrendous conditions. Will not be back.
We had a twosome booked that we paid for and had somebody thrown onto our group without telling us after. The course was packed and we had the foursome behind us hitting up on us before their tee time even started yet due to a lack of staggering of tee times. Our golf cart was hit two times by errant shots without anybody saying anything. Not even a fore. On top of all this other golfers started stealing our balls. It is a terrible course filled with golfers who show no regard for others. I have never been so aggravated by a course and the people who are on it. I knew it was a cheaper course but I wouldn’t go back if they paid me.
One of the main reason that I enjoy the bear is for the simple fact there are no homes around the course, the layout is pretty basic and depending on which tees you select will make the course more challengeing
As of late the brutal summer we have had has made some areas needing some TLC.
The bunkers due to covid are what they are as they seem neglected on some holes
Overall a good course to play for the summer price
Good practice spot
I've heard this course was terrible. I decided to try it out myself and I actually enjoyed it. We play courses all over so we do have a tough rating system overall. It was in pretty good shape for this time of year. The greens were a little bumpy. The course was way more green then I thought it would be. I imagine a ton of amateur players play here so the pace of play could be real slow. It wasn't very busy today and we got stuck behind a group of 4 who most likely have never heard of letting people play thru. However, I expect that with the price. I will definitely be going back in the future and use this as my practice course instead of lone tree. See our golf reviews and videos on YouTube and Instagram @calimadegolf
Great location, excellent layout, a great place to perfect your game at any age! In my opinion the greens are to soft! All in all really fun.
Staff was absolutely terrible
We walked in without a mask on and the staff refused to let me pay unless I wore a mask. This would’ve been fine however there were several other employees who weren’t wearing a mask, including the manager. The lady who wrung up my tee time was very rude. We tried to flag down the starter but he blew right past us and ignored us. Will not play here again
