Sundance Golf Club
About
Located in the West Valley, Sundance Golf Club offers scenic views of the White Tank Mountains to the north and the Estrella Mountains to the south. Designed by Greg Nash, the golf course is unique in that it flawlessly blends lush green landscaping with Sonoran Desert washes and arroyos. The rolling terrain of this target-style course creates elevation changes that can affect play. Sundance Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 sixth hole, which requires a precise shot over Sundance Lake to an undulating green that is sloped toward the lake. There are four sets of tee boxes on the golf course for many different options, but the Sundance Golf Club also offers a driving range, chipping area, and putting green.

100 yds our from the green on hole #18. Photo submitted by thatsmrkeith on 02/17/2015
Very long delay for tee time
The gentleman behind the counter had way too much going on and was very rattled. The course did not inform people there was a couples tournament and tee times were delay almost 45 minutes. Once you paid you were informed 15 minutes later there was a delay. This is usually a very friendly course and things go fairly well. I would also suggest that sand be put in the bunkers instead of having very hard packed desert dirt.
Great Desert Course
Very challenging green!! Greens and tee boxes are in excellent shape.
Fun course
I've played this course a few times and I really like it.Interesting holes nice scenery. Yesterday the front 9 was closed and I had to play the back twice(would not have booked if I'd known that). The back 9 looked to also be in need of maintenance. This,of course,is necessary and it's why I gave a lower rating. But I will play it again and I highly recommend it.
Poor pace of play
There was a 5 some with 2 adults and 2 little kids playing two groups in front of us. With the wind and that group it was a 5 hour round. No rangers on the course.
Brick hard greens and fairways
Difficult to keep drives on fairways. With US Open pin placements on greens, course is not a fair test of golf. Course would be better played in more user friendly conditions.
I would recommend this course
Interesting scenery. Greens were fast but pretty true. Great value for the money.
A favorite
This course is well taken care of and a pleasure to play. This is one of the courses that we try to play a couple times each month.
Good value
Being fairly new to golf I find this course exceptional. The pace is smooth and the carts are in good working order.
Looking a little dry
Looks a little dry in some fairways some greens look out of sorts back nine had people cut in front of us? Ace slowed on last 3 holes so we didn’t finish to hot to wait
Not the course for the cost
Sundance is a challenging course with lots of desert landscape, not too different from many Arizona golf courses, which is why my ratings aren’t higher. They don’t offer a 9 hole option and the cost with cart is on par with nicer golf courses.
Front nine was fun, back nine not so fun!
We found it to be a great course and a lot of fun. Next years AZ vacation will include a round here at Sundance.
The back nine was challenging. Fortunately we were paired with a very nice couple who offered us some very good advice on where to hit in order to stay out of trouble. I am a high handicap golfer so I found trouble despite the coaching advice I received.
We will be back!
