Sundance Golf Club
About
Located in the West Valley, Sundance Golf Club offers scenic views of the White Tank Mountains to the north and the Estrella Mountains to the south. Designed by Greg Nash, the golf course is unique in that it flawlessly blends lush green landscaping with Sonoran Desert washes and arroyos. The rolling terrain of this target-style course creates elevation changes that can affect play. Sundance Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 sixth hole, which requires a precise shot over Sundance Lake to an undulating green that is sloped toward the lake. There are four sets of tee boxes on the golf course for many different options, but the Sundance Golf Club also offers a driving range, chipping area, and putting green.

100 yds our from the green on hole #18. Photo submitted by thatsmrkeith on 02/17/2015
Course was awesome. We were paired with Fred and Mike. We were dairy farmers from Wisconsin so the round was enjoyable.
A very challenging course.
While I didn't feel I had my best game working, the course would have been challenging even if I did.
Large undulating greens. Often felt a two putt was going to be difficult. The fairways were generally wide enough, but if you were off, you would often find yourself in rocks. Also, strategically placed hazards add to the challenge.
I happened to get added to a group of three fun guys, and they definitely had less issues than I did. And they helped me keep my head in the round.
I look forward to playing Sundance again soon and hope I can improve my performance.
Painful
We love this course and when we have company visiting we always bring them here.
On this day we were the 3rd group behind a local college girls tournament. The starter Kerri told us it may be a bit slow as the girls were walking. The front nine started slow but then pace was okay and we did it in about 2hrs 20 minutes. However, on the 9th hole the group behind us came up to us as we were hitting our 2nd shot (par 5) and said they were playing through. We told them that the groups in front of us was on the green and there was a group in front of them and there was a tournament going on. They said it didn't appear to them there was a group in front of us (they seen them on every hole prior to #9) and said we could hit into them if we wanted. They were very rude!!! My husband hit his 2nd shot and when he went over the hill the group in front of us just was leaving the green with the jumpers right behind them. When we got to #10 it appeared they went in front of the group in front of us and there were 5 groups on the hole. Needless to say we had a 20 minute wait to tee off on #10. We managed to finished 18 holes putting out in the dark and the round took 5 hours and 20 minutes. It's unfortunate that the dorks who cut in front of us and the group in front us spoiled the round and made in it longer than necessary.
We love this course. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly plus the course is different and challenging. It won't stop us from coming back but we just wanted to vent our frustrations as our call to the pro shop only received lip service to our unhappiness.
Nice Course
This is the third time I've play Sundance. It's only about 5 minutes from where I'm staying which makes it convenient. The course conditions have gotten better each time I've come since the weather is warming up. There are several challenging holes that have to be played with a bit of finesse to manage a par. But there are also numerous holes where birdies are possible. One of the players in our group shot an eagle on #9 (chipped in), a par 5. I'll play this course anytime I'm in the area.
Where's the marshal ?
There were slow players two groups ahead of us and no marshal to move them along so our foursome could not finish 18 holes with a 2:34 pm tee time. We deserve a credit .
If you enjoy 6 hour rounds, you'll love this place.
Painfully slow pace. We walked in after 5 hours and completing 13 holes. Pathetic. To make it even more excruciating, we didn't see the beverage cart for 2 hours, and when we finally did, she told us she would be done for the day after serving us. We were waiting to tee off on #7 at that point, 2 hours into our round. To make matters worse, the bar/restaurant at this course has been closed and 'under construction' since the Civil War. Good Lord, man. If you're gonna make suffer thru a 6 hour round, at least give the opportunity to down a sandwich and a few beers. Very underwhelming facility at present.
Sundance is always great.
We are regulars. We can say the staff, course maintenance, beverage cart, facilities and course conditions are all outstanding especially for the price point.
Slow pace
We started on time. Got to hole 3, par 3. They had a 4-some on the green. 3 4-somes waiting to tee off. Then our 4-some. Crazy slow. Frustrated and left after 9 holes.
Sindance
Staff before tee of was great. A group of two members junped a hole to get in front of us then held our group of 4 up all day. Course marshall obviously supports the members over the daily green feers.
pace of play and no beverages!
2:30 tee time, no bev cart, between 9's club house closed, on course bathrooms locked, couldn't finish round due to waiting of every tee box for 5+ minutes, no course ranger to push slow groups. Pretty much a sh-t show for such a fun course. Wouldn't be tough to put in SENIOR Tee Boxes to help speed play for the older crowd. Teel boxes still way to long for some of the groups we encountered.
