Twisted Dune Golf Club
About
The golf course at the Twisted Dune Golf Club is a public, 18-hole course that is reminiscent of traditional Scottish courses. Located right on the Jersey Shore, Twisted Dune Golf Club is popular for it's beautiful views and challenging game. The deep ravines and grassy hills provide picturesque scenery and they also create interesting hazards for a good game.
Twisted Dune Golf Club lives up to his name with its twisting links-style layout, elevation changes, and rolling fairways. The golf course has par-5 holes that stretch over 500 yards as well as several par-4's and par-3's. The course also has wide fairways and large greens of bent grass.

Twisted Dunes
This is a challenging layout from the white tees as some Par 4's play long. A couple Par 3's are challenging. Fairways are generous but this is a second shot golf course. Hot deal prices are a good value. The only drawback is that the course needs to get some good Jersey sand into the greenside bunkers. All their bunkers are waste like bunkers. Hard and stoney. Not good on your clubs. If they can just upgrade those areas, then it would be more enjoyable.
Very nice track.
This is a really nice golf course and one of the best managed in southern Jersey. I played a few weeks after aeration, so the greens weren't the best, but they did advertise that. The very wide and inviting fairways were in good shape and the rough was pretty well maintained. The bunkers were rough, but that was due to the large amounts of rain recently. Not many off course amenities and it is a BYOB course, which amazingly they also advertise. The pace of play was a little slow especially for a weekday morning, but the weather and course condition made up for that. A small note to golfers though. When you have a great course like this, help maintain it. Not the courses fault, but hackers on the course do not fix ball marks (i fixed at least 10 per green), replace or sand divots, or rake bunkers. Very sad to see.
9 holes
I played the course on 9/30 and they had just dressed the greens. Yesterday 10/10 - the greens were still bumpy and it was not easy making putts of 4-6 feet.
The greens need to be rolled too.
Better than Chick-fil-A
Must play if you’re in the area. Great public track and friendly staff. Course in great condition. Need to hit fairways or ball ends up in safari. The crispy chicken sandwich at the turn is unreal. Order ahead to pickup and you find yourself with a morsel of euphoria as you’re set to tee off on 10. As my close friend simply put it after finishing his, “that inspired me.” Another said, “this needs national recognition.” Agreed and agreed. Was so good, had to woof down another one after the round. Will be back.
Very Wet
They had just gotten over 7 inches of rain from Ian. No roll but unbelievable the course was still in very good shape and the greens had just been aerated less than two weeks. Would you play it again when it’s dry. Thus the ‘good’rating.
PACE OF PLAY IS EXCRUCIATING
We love this course. We've played there 6 times this season. But the pace of play is awful. The staff, for the most part, is great. Sometimes they have rangers and sometimes they don't. It doesn't really matter because the pace of play is always bad. Part of the problem is that it's a difficult course and many times out-of-town hackers are playing who don't know that it's not the course for them. And especially when it's cart-path-only...........Our most recent round was 5.25 hours. We finished in the dark and we teed off at 1:34. On hole 7 we were seriously backed up and the ranger was sitting there. He was oblivious to the pace of play. Enough said.
Tough day
The greens were air-rated recently and were tough to putt - I suck at putting and had many three putts during the day. I've played this course many times before and never realized how big some of the greens are - so make sure you know the distance to the hole if you can.
Course conditions
Course had just been aerated . Otherwise course conditions would have been a #5. Hidden gem
Anticipated more
Fun, challenging. Course needs lots of work .Looks like a John Deere tractor was driven in rough to unearth potatoes.
Could be exceptional if some money were put into fascinating track.
Great Public course
I belong to a private golf club so I was pleasantly surprised of the conditions on this challenging course. The club house was very nice with a porch overlooking part of the 18th hole. Too bad they don’t have a liquor license because there would be a lot of golfers hanging out on the beautiful outdoor space! I would highly recommend this golf course.
