Decent Course
This was a really nice course. It had some interesting doglegs and elevation changes. Staff is friendly and the pace of play was good for a Sunday morning. Lots of high grass hazards, so if you get off line, you are going to lose a lot of balls. Only knock on the course was the sand traps were in really bad shape - most were mud and very few had decent sand to hit out of. Was a fun course to play, so I would play it again.
Good Average Course
It appears the Drumm Farm is moving away from some sand traps. Several traps were being removed, and several were under repair. The greens were average at best. Their was a lot of sand on the greens. Overall the course was in okay at best condition. If you want an average course to play this is it.
Solid Course
This is a solid golf course that we really enjoyed. The course was in great shape. Some of the fairways were very generous. For $32 on Thursday afternoon I can't think of a better golf value. I look forward to coming back.
Fun links round
I enjoyed the course as an out of towner. The greens were much better than Deer Creek that we played earlier in the week. My only complaint was that the white tee boxes were up way too far on a number of holes making the course too short. We played a few holes from blue to try and match the scorecard.
Drumm Farm
Nice course. Busy, but pace kept up very well. Greens are healing well from aeration. Bunkers need work and is underway. Fairly long course. I rode in a cart. However, the course is walkable.
Not bad for winter
Pleasant overall experience. Two issues: it is winter and there were no tee box markers. I was familiar enough with the course to figure it out but a newcomer could have a problem. Also, there was a walking five-some two groups ahead resulting in a wait on every hole. Still managed a four hour round but it could have been even better.
Geese
Several holes with goose droppings. There were a couple greens that had so much on them we had trouble putting through it.
MUST IMPROVE CONDITIONS!
Fairways & tee boxes were in pretty good shape, and the greens were rolling as well as I've seen all year, but the bunkers are just unplayable! The bunkers here have always been unacceptable, but now they look like they have not done ANYTHING to them in weeks...they have even removed some bunkers, I guess to save money, which is NEVER a good look for a course (see Bent Oak!) And not sure if they have bothered to pay the water bill, as the course was extremely dry and WAY too many bad spots in the rough made it look really bad, and disappointing to play...
Had Fun
first time to play this course. Had a great time, there were some older people in front of us so the pace was slow but other than that all was good.
Drumm Farm
I've played here many times and have always had a good experience . Yesterday was a total disappointment. The course looks like they have just let it go. I realize we've had a lot of rain but it was more then that. The greens were terrible. They just aerated the greens last week and chose not to tell you. For the cost of a round you would think they would tell you in advance so you could make the decision before you paid. Weeds and crab grass everywhere. Almost looks like Great Life has taken over the course maintenance.
Fun time
Took my kids and caught a deal on golf now. First time on this course. Fun layout, hitting over rough, blind shots etc. Tall rough so stay on the fairway.
disappointing conditions
Too bad there were several issues that detracted from what has been a good course to play in the past. The range had virtually no turf---was mostly bare dirt. The greens had way to many ball mark dead spots and the traps had virtually no sand--just bare dirt or mud. Fairways are in pretty good shape. In the past the course was in much better shape. Obvious they are skimping on the maintenance. Would not return unless they commit more to maintaining a good course.
Turf condition is beginning to turn
I have played many times and always liked everything about Drumm. However, t-boxes are nearly dead and the greens are just ok this year.
Their annual goose problem still needs addressed. Too many goose droppings on the T's and greens.
Beautiful course.
Staff is wonderful. Condition is better than average. Bunkers are in horrible shape though. Pace of play is slow. On a hill so wind is powerful. Overall, a great experience despite the things mentioned.
Loved It
Really like the course. First time playing Drumm Farm. Played 18 and loved the layout and will play again soon. Saw 3 deer on one hole and they watched us play.
Nice track...but horrible bunkers
The course was really in pretty good condition with the exception of a few fairways. Greens were good.
The bunkers were bad...I mean, really bad. Rock hard..almost like hitting off of a sidewalk. I can't imagine that this is normal for them...perhaps there was some reason they have not maintained them at all..but sheesh.
Challenging course
This course is always in great shape. The restaurant is upscales and the track is fair but challenging.
Must play in KC
This course is interesting and challenging, which makes it a must play in KC.
