Fun Environment for Beginners
Dogs off leashes, people playing music on their Bluetooth speakers.
So fit in for me playing first round in a decade.
Very very short course.
Limited parking since it middle of big Liberty Station complex - get here 10 minutes earlier than you would think
A local golf happy-place
This course will probably never make any architecture-driven best-of lists, but my early-morning round here in December is nevertheless an all-time favorite. The Loma Club serves as a meeting place with a friend I hadn’t seen in a few years, and our hour-long dawn loop on a damp, chilly morning with practically the whole place to ourselves felt like a privilege worth much more than the $18 green fees we paid, especially when we arrived at the 5th tee, with the sun rising over the San Diego skyline.
The Loma Club is more than a serviceable 9-hole par-3 course; there’s a bar, mini-golf and other fun diversions on site as well, and it’s set within the Liberty Station shopping and dining district not far from the airport. It’s one of those great places that shows just how well golf can fit in to a greater context. Inexpensive and inviting, it’s precisely the type of experience the game needs more of.
Super fun, great practice, laid back vibe!
If you want a quick fix for your golf itch, OR if you and the friends are game for a showdown and brews after, Loma Club is a fantastic choice.
I went solo and the pace was just fine, especially if you want to work on your approach shots and wedge game. I enjoy that’s it’s anything but snooty! It’s FUN and you’ll wish you brought a buddy to play with.
You will not need your woods unless you want the help from outside of $230. 5 iron down will be just fine for you avid players. Challenging enough and plenty of chances for an ace! Put put course for the family if they want to come! And hearing the laughter and fun from the bar, car stereos driving by in traffic, and seeing planes fly over the iconic Downtown skyline reminded me to relax and enjoy! .. made me remember why I play golf. I kinda wish there was another 9 holes to play!
I love golf, and I love San Diego, and if you do too, you gotta play a game at The Loma Club! Bring the crew!
The Loma club
Great par three course. Greens could be better. Slow guys in front playing two balls.
Great Convinient par 3 course
This is amazing par 3 short game builder course. I've played here 4 times but plan to play much more. If you're an experienced golfer its a great chance to practice the short game, if you're a beginner its great for learning. I recommend it for kids wanting to learn too.
The tees boxes have fake grass matts you can hit from, and the very scenic hole #5 the entire box is fake grass. I usually try to hit from the actual grass in front of the matts but its not always possible. Holes are short enough it should be no matter.
Biggest club ive used here was a very controlled 6 but i usually only use 3-4 clubs total Its a walking course only but they do have pull carts you can rent .
Fairways and greens are in surprisingly decent condition for how much attention the course gets. There are no water hazards either which willl be good news for those of you wanting to save balls. The bunkers are sometimes in good condition but lately have been very crusty on top.
The design of the course is decent but its been reported that a lot of people miss hole #6 . the tee box is to the left of the hole 5 green so veer to the left when you're done at 5 and just be cautious of players on other holes.
. The course is in the middle of the city so its very popular and theres a putt putt course and clubhouse well within reach of an errant shot next to it so be careful of families on the last couple holes.
The course is right next to the airport so if you're bothered by airplanes regualrly taking off right over your golf game maybe this isnt the course for you.
Theres a great practice green across the roundabout from the course .
After my round when i was relaxing in the club area I overheard Employees enforcing pace of play and groupings so if you come when its busy be aware that they are strict about it, but the staff are professional and kind! Thanks ! Happy Golfing!
Fun 9 hole
This is a fun little 9 hole, it was almost empty when we played. The google earth images showed lots of dry grass but the fairways are in good condition. The greens are green though the grass is very tightly packed and inconsistent from green to green. Hole #1 was very fast, with a difficult slope but I guess that’s part of the fun. Mostly wedges off the mats, but there’s a few chances to break out the irons on the last 3. Don’t slice it on 9 or you’ll be putting it right into the mini-golf area. No water hazards but try not to loose any balls on the top of the water tank!
Fun time with kids
This P&P course is near where we stay when we stay in San Diego. Location is good, bar and restaurant are also good. Kids are beginners at golf so it's just enough challenge for them and keeps it short at 9 holes so they don't get burned out. I like playing this course a lot.
Little fun in the sun
What a fun way to spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon. It’s a short but challenging little executive course. The drinks were cold and delicious; it was just a great way to enjoy our beautiful San Diego weather.
Where the grass isn’t greener
If you enjoy patchy grass with beautiful dead spots, tee boxes made of dirt and a little pad of 100 year old turf that’s hard as a rock you will love it here. If your looking to play a bad game of golf this is the place for you. Not sure that it’s worth the $20 to play though maybe if it was $10.
Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. The current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve and are working diligently to improve the course. Thank you for playing and we hope to see you again soon.

Ocean Breeze and Great Staff
We were greeted by friendly staff and very nice shop. Nice shade and cute little restaurant next door.
Fun course
Fun place to play and work on your short game. If you're looking for a quick round, will need to book off-hours as it can get pretty backed up with the large groups they allow on. Today played this par 27 9-hole course in 2 hours. Currently the course is pretty brown and beat up.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We would love to know how we can earn those last two stars next time! Thanks for playing The Loma Club.
Great Scene Views
It was a very pleasant course with some challenges. But over all I enjoyed my around golf
Fun spot
Great spot to work on irons and short game. Great
friendly service from Margo. Enjoy a drink and relax after play.
