Not worth the money.

Expected a better course, but the course came up short. It is really just a little club house all the rich people go. They relax and have a nice and easy game of golf. But since I was coming from South Bay and drove a while to find myself in a course that plays really flat and boring. At one time I just wanted to go home. It you are coming from SanJose just choose Cinnabar or even Santa Clara. You will be happier.

Frost delay / shotgun start

After a confusing start (very little communication from staff on an apparent shotgun start for all players with tee times from 7:30 to 9:15 AM), the round went pretty well for our foursome. Would've appreciated an explanation when we checked in, so expectations were better managed. No complaints with the course - it's a fun track to play. Enjoy the complexion of the course changing from relatively flat and open on the front to hilly and tree-lined on some of the back holes. Will definitely return, but will try to avoid potential cold morning delays in the future.

Nice, but not at their price

The holes in what must be largely a filled in marshland, have about as much interest as the terrain allows. The doglegs and bunkering add the need to have a think or two before hitting your shot and there are a few holes where a meandering creek must be considered. The remainder of the water features seem to be there for show more than anything else.

The holes routed through the hills are a lot more interesting. The elevation changes and trees make a nice change from the ho-humness of the flat part of the course. The holes themselves are not nearly as difficult as they may seem to be from the tee. Being placed between the hills actually makes it fairly easy to keep the ball in/near the fairway as you can play your regular shot shape, but err of the side that will see a miss it roll down the hill and end up in good shape. #13-15 makes for a particularly entertaining stretch.

The ancillaries that are missing at Stonetree though really knock its rating down. No driving range, no water jugs on course, no toilets on course, mediocre food. These are pretty inexcusable for the rates they charge. The rates themselves are also a serious negative. I don't actually know who would regularly return here, based on these issues. Near-ish, Hiddenbrooke or San Geronimo are just as good or better golfing wise and are cheaper.

This is actually a pretty decent golf course, but with the number of golf courses that are better than decent in the Bay Area, I cannot see myself returning here.

great place, great location, close to the city

i tried my new taylormade mb irons at this place. This is my 2nd time playing there. I like this place a lot specially for holes 14 and 15. The pace was great since I was virtually the only person on the course due to a rain forecast for the day.

One caveat, I did not like one of the staff asking me to wear a collar shirt when I already had my light rain jacket on with collars.

Very good

Course was is phenomenal shape. Fairways like carpet.

Had one negative experience with an impatient foursome hitting behind us.

That aside, it was a good time.
