McCullough's Emerald Golf Links
About
The golf course at McCullough's Emerald Golf Links is an 18-hole, public course that is situated within minutes of Atlantic City. Designer, Stephen Kay decided to pay tribute to famous European golf courses such as St. Andrew's in his design. The European influences are reflected in the open fairways, tricky strong winds, and undulating greens. The golf course also boasts the region's only 100-feet elevation changes.
McCullough's Emerald Golf Links' signature hole is the seventh; it is also the course's most unique. The hole features hazards like large bunkers and wide, rolling fairways. Water hazards also come into play on five holes. The acclaimed golf course is challenging but it does provide a truly unique golfing experience.

Challenging Course - grumpy staff
First off let me start out by saying - for the first 9 holes this course was great. We were moving at a good pace. You absolutely need to be in the fairway or good luck finding your ball. There are also a lot of blind shots. Fairways and greens were a little spotty but they it was ok.
They were running a promotion on the 9th hole - $10 if you are within a certain distance to the pin then you get a prize. With that came a buy one get one free promotion for beer at the bar. My group stopped to have a beer and dog at the turn as there was a hole open behind us and no one in front of us. The service was slow so we were stopped for about 20-25 minutes. That put us at about 2h 20min for 9 holes. The first ranger asked us to pick the pace at the 10th tee and we hurried along. After our tee shots, less than 5 minutes later another ranger comes speeding down the fairway screaming about our pace of play and threatening to force us to skip a hole. As if the first warning wasn't enough. Not to mention, it was mid back swing of one of the players. We finished our round in under 4 hours and 30 minutes, even with the 25 minute stop. T
Note to Mcculloghs, if you put a promotion on the 9th hole for a buy one, get one beer expect the groups to stop at the clubhouse at the turn.
Big Al
Nice course, played on a hot deal so made it affordable. A nice layout but too many blind shots for me. As we all know golf is a hard enough game as is without not knowing where to hit the ball. With that said it is worth playing.
Great Golfing Experience!
Course is in great shape. It was very windy, so along with some blind shots, course was a little difficult. Legs are a little tired the next day from a lot of elevated tee boxes. Staff from bag drop to pro shop, from starter to groundskeeper were excellent. Bonus, the food and service from the restaurant, Vagabond, was great too!
I Always Enjoy this Course
Pace was a little off. Greens were challenging. It was a real nice weather day.
Solid course if you can snag a deal
Course was in solid condition and pace of play was excellent AFTER the GolfNow issue that forced us to sit in the pro shop for 30min while they tried to confirm that we actually paid for the round — annoying start to the day but ultimately not the course's fault.
Greens are firmer and quicker in true links style, and my only complaint is some of the holes were not cut perfectly, resulting in a lip-out that shouldn't have been.
Overpriced like most shore courses, and it sounds like they are dropping GolfNow later this year, but if you can get a deal, would definitely recommend it.
Great track
Great layout and elevation changes.
Beautiful vistas.
Not a course for beginners .
Greens were hard and fast, some were a little spotty.
Only thing lacking is a range to warm up.
spring and fall course or early am
Nice course it was hot and they ran out of water otherwise good
One of my favorites
Always a great round.
Course in great shape.
Layout challenging.
Best Weather Day of the Year
Sunny and just a slight breeze. Fun course to play. It can be a little confusing if you aren’t using GPS. For me, just a few things keeping it from 5 stars all around are, no GPS on carts, slow greens and trying to grab a few beers 🍺 after 9 is tuff as the bar tenders (never looked in our direction) don’t seem to differentiate the guys passing through and the regular crowd.
Bag attendants get 5 stars as they are bright helpful and efficient.
Excellent course, great condition
My friends and I have played this course many times in the past. The course is always in great shape. The layout of the course is really nice. The staff is very accommodating and friendly.
Very Nice
Nice challenging course. Conditions were great. I scored a Hot Deal on an off day and it was foggy, so I can't really comment on pace of play. I have driven by more than once to see a backup on the 1st tee on popular golf days.
Overall, I will definitely go again.
