It is a great golf course
It is a great golf course. We met some challenges with strong wind.
Greens were excellent.
Course conditions were great. Only problem was blind shots without a diagram or picture to know an aim point. I hit one right at the pole for 150 and it ended up in water.
But, I had a blast and will play the course again.

We Like The Lakes
We visit Houston occasionally to visit my son. We've played the Lakes once before, so this was not our first time. The day prior, we played Wildcat Highlands, and from our experience, we enjoyed the Lakes more than the Highlands, although we were told the Highlands course is better. We disagree.
The only downside of the Lakes is that we found that the possibility or errant shots being fired at us (blindly) was a lot higher on the Lakes course compared to the HIghlands. Twice, balls landed relatively close to us "from out of nowhere".
The greens and bunkers were in very good shape; the fairways were firm(with plenty of good grass) and you got a lot of roll...good for a good shot, not so good for a misdirected shot.
The finishing holes at Lakes are exciting...with a difficult par 5 as 16, a fun but challenging par 3 as 17 and a tricky uphill par 4 as 18.
I shot a 74 at Lakes and my playing partner shot an 89.
Def recommend. The price is up there a bit, but since we were visiting, we're not paying that ($90) every time.

Great golf
Overall the course was great. The only negative was the greens. They were ‘dirty’. The greens had debris on them like stuff fell off the mower when they cut them

Beautiful landscape
Wild nature all around when you play. Makes me think of Scottish links golf courses.. except the kind of animals you are capable to meet...
Very desorienting and surprising.
But beautiful.
The course is not easy at all with water everywhere, holes you can only imagine sometimes, dodlegs...
I loved this course.
Upon all this, very friendly and helping people there.

Great course
Great course in the city. Love the lakes course. Great scenery and challenging course.
