Seaview - The Bay Course
The Bay Course is one of two 18-hole courses that the Seaview offers. Designed by famed golf course designer, Donald Ross, it was the first course of the resort and it is also the more famous of the two. Over the years, they made renovations but it was eventually restored to Ross' original links design.
The greens are small and undulating and the Atlantic winds definitely play a huge role in the game. The 2nd hole is the signature hole with a yardage of 432 and a par of 4 that can where the ocean serves as a hazard. Seaview's Bay Course also hosts the ShopRite LPGA Classic.

Oh that Donald Ross
Seaview Bay is a great layout. The fairways were so good that we hardly had to lift clean and place. Putting was challenging, the aeration was still effecting, you know, like a Chinese Checker board. The par 3 tee boxes were closed and the temporary tees diminished the holes. Hey, its mid January, I get it. Always friendly staff, cant wait to return.
Off season outing
This is a great place to play golf. The Bay course is open and forgiving for the amateur golfer yet is challenging. I can see why the LPGA has a tournament here. I was rather upset that the driving range was not open but I understand why. The want to keep the teeing areas in good shape for the prime season. Hint to members and guests, Use the mats!
Seaview Bay Course
The course was in excellent condition as always. Quite challenging. Will definitely play again.
Played the bay. Not sure it was wet enough for cart path only but it was cart path only. Greens were recently punched. Fast but soft and bumpy. Still don’t understand the CPO, 90 degree would have been much better. Had 2 temporary t boxes on par 3’s. Located very close and in the high rough.
Christmas at Seaview
Lucky to have 57 degree and no wind on Christmas week. Can’t beat that!
Course In fine shape, felt like an October round.
Cart path only this time of year which is eh but too big deal.
We have we December day with NO wind.
Fantastic course and great value!
The course was pretty crowded, but the pace of play was very good, and even with a 1:20 start we were able to finish 18 holes(last one was a little tough)! The staff members were great from check in to end of round. The course layout and conditions were excellent, the greens had remnants of the aeration so were a little bumpy, but certainly playable. For the price it can’t be beat!
Great course but bumpy greens
This is a fun and challenging course. The only downside was the bumpy greens due to aeration holes.
Played the course for the 1st time today in a Veteran’s Day outing scramble. The weather and the course were both great. Only problems were the bumpy greens due to aeration. Great views of the bay and AC! Tough but fair course. Will play it again soon hopefully!
Course was challenging and you had to use all your clubs I loved it
Donald Ross Masterpiece
The Bay course at Seaview in Absecon NJ. Is a great old course that seems to be very much the same as it was when it opened in 1914. Probably just as difficult too. Only one hole with a water feature (not counting the bay) but plenty challenging with fast elevated greens, narrow fairways and I can’t find my ball rough. The bunkers could use a little more sand but overall you’ve got to use your entire bag of clubs and be surgically accurate with your shots. Shot 90 (it so good) but it could have been much worse and it was still a lot of fun and very scenic as well.
Great layout, pace of plat (under 4 hours) and fair price for Donald Ross gem.
Greens were perfect and views were spectacular. However, I am an 8 handicap golfer and I'd like to know golfers who enjoy playing on golf courses where if you miss a green by 1 yard or hit near a sand trap you end up in two foot tall grass. I lost four balls in high grasses that were less than 1 yard off the green.. If you look at the picture on the front of the Bay Course score card (old time golf photo) the high grass is no where to be seen. Cut the grass! It may look great in photos but it stinks to play.
