Not great Bob
Course was dried out. No water coolers due to Covid (ironically no one was wearing masks). Kept getting pressed to play faster even though we were well under 4hrs for the round
Challenging but great layout
This course will challenge any golfer. Conservative play is rewarded and pars are always in reach. Course was in good condition, dry fairways tended to add yardage - no complaints there, after a good rain, I might expect 10-20 yards less off the tee box.
I’ve played here 30+ times and always ready for the challenge.
Great Course
As always the golf course was in good condition and the staff were very pleasant.
Aeration kills
Greens we in bad shape. Couldn't get a feel for them at all.
Get there an hour before my 8:30 tee time, informed the range was closed because no one had collected the balls from the day before. Sand traps, not unlike many other courses in the area, are atrocious and are not playable. Straight up bed rock. Is there a sand shortage? Or is business so good that no one really cares anymore? Driving by 18 before the round there was a lawn mower in the middle of the fairway. It was still there by the time I played the hole 4 1/2 hours later. Let me guess, staffing shortage? Thats's understandable but you're charging $70. Hope what happened to Chapel Ridge down the road isn't happening at this course. The starter was nice enough to pair me up with at 2some at 750 so I didn't have to putt one the practice green for an hour.
Great track!
Very challenging!...need to keep it in play. Greens were awesome!
Course is on good shape
Course greens and fairways were in good condition. Sand traps not good compressed and small rocks. Sand difficult to hit out of and rocks not good for your SW. Other than the sand course is in good shape.
Still thirsty, a day later
While the course conditions were admittedly better than they were 2 years ago, that’s a bit of a low bar. That said, there was a still a number of things to be disappointed in....
- the sand (or should I say dirt) in the bunkers is poor.
- lots of dried mowed grass laying over the grass in the rough. Not a good look at all.
- on one of the hottest days of the year, there’s absolutely no water on the course. We saw the beverage cart only once (and only a half a hole from the turn, at that) all round. To say I was parched for most of the round was an understatement.
- so, when finished with our round - still late in the afternoon, getting to the clubhouse to grab a drink was a welcome thought. But, all the doors were locked, and the staff were gone! Are you kidding me?
It’s summer where is the water?
I understand that the COVID-19 pandemic took a lot of things off the golf course, but we are now well into the summer, not wearing masks and even reducing our social distancing. It is now 90° on a daily basis, please return the water coolers and the ball washers to where they belong on the course.
We need to stop catering to those that are not vaccinated. At this point you can get a vaccination on any street corner, therefore it is their decision to get one or not. Those people that are not vaccinated at this point know what they need to do to protect themselves, please bring back the on course water coolers.
Well worth the money!!!
Course was in great condition, fairways and green were very nice. Loved it. Played with 3 guys I didn't know, they were all friendly. We all agreed at the 18th, we'd do it again in a heartbeat. Very impressed. Hazzbro, St. Paul, MN
