NICE COURSE!
How beautiful. Course layout and hole designs are first rate. Tee boxes, fairways, greens, all in great shape. Give it a try. You'll be glad you did.
Great course and very friendly staff. Highly recommended!!
I traveled from South Bend to the area and heard about the course. It was well worth making the trip from my hotel. The course was in great shape for October and the staff were very friendly/helpful. The only drawback is the facility is pretty much in the middle of nowhere so there aren't any off course amenities. It is still a must play if you are in the area.
Spectacular Course (if you can tolerate slower play)
I will start by saying I love Sultans Run. The layout is smart, breathtaking and beautiful. The greens are fast, true and undulated. They play even faster than the stemp because of the undulations.
The staff is friendly, the course is well priced and the clubhouse is appropriate for the venue.
The reason it doesn’t get 5 stars in everything is the simple reason most golfers get frustrated…. Pace of play. And it’s not that Sultans is overly slow. Most places are overly slow. It just take the 4 some in front of you or the two foursomes in front of you to put a damper on things. So while we were only a few minutes behind (according to the clock on the cart which is a slow round to begin with), we were actually 3 holes behind what should be the pace of play. The 4some in front of us was 1 and 1/2 hole behind the 4some in front of them who were 1 and 1/2 holes behind the next 4some. And there were no rangers to patrol. But what were they to say??? “You are 3 minutes behind.” I guess my beef is with the golfers who play and are “out of position”. If you are not behind the 4 some in front of you then you are behind and need to pick up the pace!!!! Period. Here’s to being cogniscent and courteous to your fellow golfers. So let’s pickup the pace and give Sultans the 5 stars in everything that it truly deserves.
The pace of play was very slow and it took us 5:05 to finish our round...
This is an excellent public option about 45 minutes west of Louisville. I found it to be very scoreable. The back nine has the more interesting holes. Greens were a solid 11 and is the main defense of the course in my opinion.
Love This Course
Love playing here. Great course layout and beautiful condition. If you don’t drive in the fairway, take plenty of golf balls!!
Hidden Gem
This course is a hidden gem right outside Louisville. Greens and tees were in fantastic condition. Challenging course with a great layout, and rewards a player for executing aggressive shots. I will play again in a heartbeat next time in town
Awesome Course
This was my second time playing it and unfortunately I had to leave after the seventh hole for a family emergency but hopefully I will make it back again soon excellent condition.
A must play...
Course was in amazing shape. Staff was professional, friendly, and very helpful. In my opinion, a must play for avid golfers.
Great Links layout
This course has a great links layout. It was in great shape. We played after a recent rain which slowed the greens but they were still fast. On a dry day these greens would be real fast
Best bang for Buck
This place is an absolute steal for the price! Green we’re very fast but true. I would definitely recommend this course.
Great course worth the trip
This is a great course that has a great facility. It is a little bit of a challenge getting to right now from Louisville, but it is worth the trip. I played n the evening on a Thursday, tees off at 4:40 and played in 3 hours. I would recommend it to just about anybody.
Long Day
Pace of play was rough from start to finish. At one point there were 5-6 groups (Foursomes) on about 2-3 holes. 4 hours and 20 minutes to play 16 holes. We had to call it quits after that.
Course is always nice and worth the drive from Louisville, but pace of play will make it hard to come back on a weekend afternoon.
10/10 would recommend to anyone
Fantastic golf course! From the clubhouse to the 18th green it doesn’t get much better. Very friendly and welcoming staff, explained the facility exceptionally well for the first time guest. Range and range balls were in great condition. Putting green and short game area were the same as course conditions. From tee to green everything on the course was in excellent condition. Greens were quick and true. Staff stated they were running 11.5 for the day. I believe if they wanted they could get them much quicker than that. The layout was great. Challenging enough for the scratch golfer while maintaining playability for the high handicapper.
Good time
Greens Punched a few weeks ago. Otherwise beautiful course and excellent conditions.
