Golf Granby Ranch
About
Nestled in the heart of the Rockies, Golf Granby Ranch boasts unbelievable mountain vistas. It consistently ranks as one of the top public golf courses in Colorado. Formerly known as Headwaters G.C., the course originally opened as a nine-hole layout in 2001 and has since expanded to a full 18 holes and underwent a renovation by Nicklaus Design. The golf course tumbles across dramatically hilly terrain that does more than offer great views, it also gives each hole a unique character. Sand traps can be found throughout, you'll even see some in the middle of the fairways, which is a Nicklaus signature. There are also natural lakes and ponds that come into play on several occasions. The golf course can be a tough but six sets of tees make it approachable for any skill level.

Granby golf
Fun golf course. Hidden treasure. Well worth going out of your ways to find it. There is so much potential to be a great course when they make all their planned changes.
Fantastic course
Great course conditions..it was the off season and no crowds. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to seeing the new club house
This course is located on the Colorado River.
Beautiful surroundings, beautiful flowers, lots of wildlife, friendly staff.
Great Course at a bargin price
This is a drop dead gorgeous setting in a valley with the Colorado River running along a couple holes and the ski resort in the background. I spent as much time taking pics as playing golf. A typical mountain course with up and down terrain.
The course is immaculate, well kept, the greens are great and Grandby Ranch does a fantastic job of maintaining an outstanding golf course along with their other facilities. The driving range and putting and chipping areas are included in the green fee and our outstanding. I got a $25 price for a late afternoon tee time on Golf Now and quite frankly, it is the best course I have ever played for that price.
New Favorite golf course
This place is awesome! From the moment you drive in and park, we were met with a friendly staff person with our cart. The Starter welcomed us and showed us where the practice area was and which holes had the most beautiful views. Inside staff just as friendly. A really good deal after 2pm $60 for 18 of the most beautiful, well/groomed holes of golf. Challenging, but fun!
5 stars is possible
What a fun course! Lies in a valley and is quite picturesque. Staff out front was very courteous and informative. Proud of their course too. Clubhouse is nothing much at all and the food was an issue. We just wanted a breakfast burrito before we teed off and it took an act of congress to get it. Evidently they had to have it delivered from somewhere. This made very little difference though for the enjoyment of the course. I recommend it above Grand Elk which was pretty good and poor Grand Lake which has been decimated by Pine Beetle kill.
Beautiful Scenery
Course is in immaculate condition, beautiful scenery, very friendly and competent staff. We'll be back and will recommend to our friends.
Great Views Great Copnditions
The front well thought out and great views from all Tee boxes. Mountain backdrops were OUTSTANDING! Backside lay out questionable (double back on cart paths). Course in EXCELLENT condition.
Fun to play!
Long Day
My second time playing at Granby Ranch, both were great. The starter greets you with a cart, jumps out and grabs another if your party needs one.
We had a late tee time and arrived 20 mins before time to tee off. I wanted to swing my driver a few times before the round, thanks to the unlimited practice balls they provided, I warmed up! Off to the course and a great round!
The only problems I noticed are the fairway near the greens are extremely wet(no puddles), a few blind greens(its handy to have someone spot you) and we never saw a drink cart(once again we did have a 3:30pm tee time). Other than that.. Fantastic day!
beautiful course
Great course with awesome views of the mountains. Front nine along the Frazer river. Back nine is in mountain valley with elevation changes. The course has 5 sets of tees for all skill levels.
Very enjoyable golf
My son and I had a great day at Granby Ranch. Fairways and most greens were in good shape. A few greens on the back nine were rough and bumpy , but course was in good condition overall.
Keep the ball in play. The rough can eat golf balls if you stray too far away from mowed areas.
We were well taken cared of by the staff and will be back for more.
Good course, but new and needs time to mature
Can be difficult to find, no club house and just because the greens are new golfers feel they don't need to repair ball marks, come on man, bend over and fix your ball mark.
Great staff, very helpful and pleasant.
Incredible!
Tee time: 9:10 am. Conditions: rained for 12 hrs night before so Extremely wet...cart path only. Overall, the course was great; definitely the best in Grand County. Staff was very helpful and friendly. For warmup, there were plenty of range balls and beautiful practice facilities for putting and chipping. Greens were just punched but still managed to putt rather true; to be expected this time of year. Fairways were well kept as are the rough and traps. I had such a great time on this course that I played another 18 that afternoon. Not to be Missed!
Lots of sand traps.
If you do not hit straight you will lose many balls inthe tall grasses that surround the fairways.
great layout
Played Grandby ranch and had a great time. Flew through the front 9 as a single. Caught another single on the back nine and it made the round that much more enjoyable,he had great course knowledge since he lived at the ranch. As far as the course goes it's a tale of two 9' s front side is flat back side is hilly. Conditions were perfect. Greens are super quick. My only complaint was the rocks in the bunkers and the set of rental clubs needed new grips on them. Comin if your going to charge 35$ at least make sure the clubs are clean and in good condition before handing them out.
excellent views
Stay out of the ruff tough to get out of. Greens rolled great. Bunkers had rocks in them. Staff was very friendly . Worth all that we played for a mountain course
Great mountain vistas!
Built along wetlands in a valley surrounded by mountains with beautiful vistas, it is a unique mountain setting. Most importantly there is only one hole lined by homes on the back nine and none on the front - truly unique!
Fantastic conditions
Granby ranch is in the best shape of almost any mountain course in the area and for less money too. I almost feel bad telling others about it. Greens and fairways are in great shape. No snow rot like many other courses. It is a great test of golf. By far my favorite course and a great value. Staff is super friendly. Do yourself a favor and play Granby Ranch.
Thank you for for your kind review of Golf Staff and faculty.
