Splendid day

We've been out in Palm Springs for 2 weeks playing alternate days at well known courses.
The Greg Norman course at PGA West is definitely a highlight. The course has a very Australian feel, down to the angled bunkers & bottle brush trees. It is in excellent shape, the staff were very helpful & friendly & we played in 4 hours 15 minutes, right on schedule.
We were lucky enough to catch a hot deal on Golf Now 30 days out, so the price was great.
Highly recommend

Punishing bunkers.

Our group really enjoyed playing this course. Condition excellent. Lots of punishing bunkers, you need to stay out of to score. Found the back a bit easier than the front. Most bunkers required a lay up or out sideways they are so deep. Fair course though, would play again.

Nice course

Course layout was good. Greens we're rolling a little slow but had nice breaks in them. Great value at $88.

Poor Customer Service

Tee time was delayed due to frost and eventually feed off 1.5 hours late. We were asked to start on the 2nd hole. When coming to finish our 18th hole, which is the 1sr hole on the scorecard, we were told by the starter we had to wait an hour before we could complete the round. The starter indicated that prioritized tee times had to go off before us even though we would have only taken 10 minutes to finish our round. When we complained to the pro shop, they further indicated that we weren’t a priority due to booking our tee time on Golfnow. Really poor customer service and the course staff should be extremely disappointed in themselves for treating paid customers in such a way.

Perfect Again

Love this course. Beautiful, impeccable, well paced - played a 3.5 hour around. It's one of the quieter, relaxed, PGA courses . Norman loves deep bunkers...

Perfect condition after overseeding

Beautiful desert style course. Excellent pace of play as it is the least crowded of all PGA West courses. True and fast greens made this a chellenge and fun tp play.

Gorgeous and Fair

Stunningly beautiful course in great shape. Cart path or sand only but easy to get around and close to your ball. Finished in 3.5 hours with no waiting. Very friendly and helpful staff . Will definitely be back.

PGA West/Greg Norman course

Amazing, fun but challenging golf course, with gobs of bunkering, many of them very deep. Best part is the design, which has firm sand Waste areas flanking both sides of most holes. Even with cart-path only rule, the sand areas allow you to drive your cart in them on either side for faster access to your ball. A challenging course, pick the right tees for your game/enjoyment. Greens were great, consistent, firm, true reads. Would play it again anytime I’m in Palm Springs area.

First time playing this course. Nice course, challenging, very fast greens, friendly staff, but i gotta say I was a little disappointed. For the money, i was expecting more. Didn’t think it was worth the $130+. Other courses are nicer in Palm Springs area for the same money or less.

Not the best of the PGA West Courses

Ive played all the PGA West public courses, and both the affiliated La Quinta courses and this is amongst the least interesting. I would personally rate it only above the La Quinta Dunes course out of the 5 courses (My personal ratings order: Stadium Course, La Quinta Mountain, Nicklaus Tournament, Norman, La Quinta Dunes). As such, for the same money, i would go elsewhere.

Having gotten that off my chest, let me say, its a typical condo lined course. Lots of “waste” areas and a. Good variety of short par 4s, long par 4s, short par 5s, long par 5s,, short par 3s and longer par 3s. The fairways were in good shape and all but the 1st and 10th greens were good (I dont know what’s going on with those but they are in bad shape).

If you can get on Stadium or La Quinta Mountain for the same money, I would go there first.

Terrible condition, very difficult

I’m about a 16 handicap golfer but this course made me feel awful. Gorgeous course and great layout just tough. So I’m not going to say it’s a Bad course, just hit the ball strait.

Additionally, when I played it happened to be the worst conditions I’ve ever played golf. Fairways were essentially dirt and the greens hadn’t been tended to.

I’m sure in great conditions it would be fun as long as you’re a great golfer.
