A little squishy, but very enjoyable round

This is a course that offers challenges to those who need them, yet plays fairly for those of us who aren’t as skilled, too. Back nine has lots of ups and downs; front nine more flat, but with more water. Course is in better condition than others in the area we’ve played recently, but it’s still very wet in places, esp. on the front nine (which was actually the “back” nine today, as they’d sent everyone out on #10 to start.)

Pace was good for a sunny Friday in December.

Golfer who wants value for his $$

this round was great. No better walking course in WA. Pace of play for walkers was very good. a little wet but this course is worth a few wet spots for the quality it is. OKI can have green fees a little above what is ideal but if you can catch it on the right day / special it is well worth it. pace of play can be hit or miss here and i caught it on the right day / time. Staff was very friendly and tee time right on track with no back ups. well worth it and if you have never played it, certainly a must for Western Wa.

This was my first time playing the course. I have never played a wetter course. I saw no signs of drainage fields, fairways had no slopes, and there was not one step on the course that wasn't standing water or worse. Even on 11 where the down slope was 15 to 20 degree 100 yds into the green, it was pure mud. And that was the high ground. I play to about a 5 handicap and never threatened the woods yet I lost a half dozen golf balls in the fairway or light rough. And as a first time player, holes like 9 and 11 must have signs saying where the fairway ends - nothing will kill an experience than hitting a solid straight hit and finding your ball out of play. And summer undoubtedly would only make this worse. This means on just those 2 holes alone, I would be hitting a 5 iron off the tee. Yes, it was wet, but the course management is to fault for seemingly not addressing overwhelming drainage issues. Clubhouse, people and food were excellent - no complaints there. Pretty course but never in winter.

Very different front and back 9

I play this course as a winter member which is $400 for unlimited golf from October-February although you can only tee off after 12pm on Sat and Sun. The pace of play could be better and is not monitored by marshals, I had to call the clubhouse in the middle of a round once because it was so bad. During the winter the course is still kept in good shape, kudos to the ground crew. It gets pretty sloppy when it rains here, a lot of places on the course have poor drainage. The front 9 is a very tight woodlands style course a while the back is much wider and more spread out with incredible views of the sound. The price to play a single round both in the winter and summer is very high, I would only play as a winter member.

Sandy greens but course was in great condition!

We played at 9:30am on a saturday and it seemed like the course was completely booked up. The pace of play was a little slow but nothing you wouldn't expect on a beautiful saturday morning.

They had just punched the green so they were really sandy but seemed to roll just fine. The rest of the course was in amazing shape. This is one of my favorite courses to play that is within a half hour from seattle.

Another overpriced Oki course with NO drainage, more rocks than sand in the traps, and HORRIBLE customer service

I booked a foursome for a Saturday via their online booking system which requires a credit card. Life happens, I need to cancel said tee time. I call the pro shop Friday, cancel time.

The following week I see on my credit card statement that they charged me a $20 plus tax "no-show" fee. WTF? I had cancelled the tee time.

I send an email to corporate Oki, advised of the situation, gave them my Oki # so they can see I literally spend a couple thousand at their courses every year. I don't even get the courtesy of a response. If this is how they treat their best and most loyal customers then why would you want to play there?

In regards to this course specifically, it's a goat ranch. Several awkward/gimmick holes, HORRIBLE drainage (do not play here after any measurable amount of rain), and the "sand" traps have more rocks in them than actual sand. I've played parking lots that were softer.

Bottom line, Oki courses are built around tournament season - that's where they make their money. They don't give a rip about you or I, the guys coming to drop our $100 to play golf on a Saturday. They provide ZERO customer service to even their longtime loyal customers.

Oki just chose $20 over the thousands I bring to them every year (5 Platinum cards and 1 players card this year, let alone all the other rounds we play at Newcastle and Washington National). I will gladly spend my money elsewhere in 2018.

*Pro Tip - if you do decide to play golf at an Oki course, DO NOT use their online booking system which requires a credit card. Just call the pro shop, which does not require a credit card, that way if you do need to cancel you won't get bent over like I did.

My experience has been the opposite... I really like the course, and I play it all year. It's great that the two 9's are so different. I find the no show fee irksome, but nominal really ($5 per player) and I've never been charged when I called the day before. The biggest surprise in this review is the rating on the staff - they're great, always welcoming - so maybe this perception stems from the $20 no show fee incident.

solid, challenging course

I've played here many times over the years. The course is usually in great shape, although the front nine can get soggy in periods of frequent rain. Many unique, enjoyable holes. One of my favorite, local to Seattle, courses I like to play.
