Port Royal Golf Course
About
Located on the shorefront of Southampton Parish, the Port Royal Golf Course is one of the most frequented public golf courses in Bermuda and it is even known as being one of Jack Nicklaus' favorites. Robert Trent Jones designed this 18-hole course, which hosts the Bermuda Open Championship every year. Doglegs and wind are just some of the factors that will challenge golfers on this course. The signature hole is the scenic and rather infamous 16th, situated precariously atop craggy cliffs that overlook the Atlantic Ocean. The hole requires a nearly perfect shot in order to reach the green. Port Royal Golf Course has garnered such a following that some golfers reserve starting time a year in advance.

Always a treat playing Port Royal GC
Course was in great shape! Fairways were like carpet and course had a great open feel to it. Greens were a little slower than normal but overall the experience was fantastic.
Fun course especially back nine
Great course but unfortunately the greens are a mess. Winter kill made them extremely bumpy , slow with no true roll.
Early season
The course layout was excellent making good use of the natural Features in the landscape. The back nine is testing especially in the windy conditions we had making the course play long on the day. Some very scenic holes on the back nine along the coast line .
Only let down on the day was the quality of the greens average at best! Different grasses in the greens made them very patchy with differing growths resulting in the ball jumping in the air or moving off line on several occasions. They have a lot of work to do before they host the Bermuda championships later in the year.
Our favourite Bermuda golf course. Always great to play when we are over visiting relatives. Watch out for those sand traps tho’ - they always catch you out!
January golf
Greens are in rough shape at the moment ... and half way house now closes at 3pm which is not very thought out.
Great course getting better
We are in Bermuda several times a year and always play Port Royal. The course itself is spectacular, and course conditions have done nothing but get better over the years. Some greens are not up to snuff, but all continue to improve. Practice area is mediocre, and the clubhouse can best be described as utilitarian. Scenery - extraordinary! Lots of up and down and lots of challenge. Great value, and friendly staff. Pace of play was fine - not a rocket, but not irritating. We will keep coming back!
Excellent golfing experience!
Being a PGA stop course, we found the course outstanding.

Nice course
The course was in great shape. The layout was interesting. The wind made the course a lot more difficult. The only downside was the perfectly healthy kid on hole 3 tee box asking for handouts instead of working.

Outstanding!
Even though they were preparing for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, the course was amazing! We’ve played this course many times and every hole is breathtaking! Cannot wait to come back!

This is NOT a PGA quality track right now
We expected the course to be cart path only due to the PGA event next month. What we did not expect is how bad the course conditions would be. The fairways were not in great shape, but we can handle that. The greens however were atrocious. Slow, bumpy, did not roll true at all. They aerated apparently a month ago, and it has taken a long time to come back. When I asked a few employees about this, they did not seem to realize there may be an issue. All the focus seems to be on the event 6 weeks from now, not the customer paying a lot of money to play right now. Either lower your rates to reflect the quality if the course or fix the quality please.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us, todd3696743. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Port Royal Golf Course, and we hope to see you again in the future.

Needs work
They are preparing for the PGA tour in November. Greens are slow and rough. Sand in bunkers was blown away by recent hurricane. Great views and gorgeous scenery. Pace of play a bit slow due to cart path only rule right now.
Hello, sixaces2013. Thank you for visiting us at Port Royal Golf Course. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
Top 10
The views and scenery put this in my top 10 golf courses in the world. Nothing else compares to the sea views and ultra aqua waters. Condition right now is not great as they are gearing up for the Bermuda Championship in early November. Fun course with plenty of challenges especially when the wind picks up.

Cart path only
They are charging over $200 before 2 PM on a course that’s cart path only because of the PGA event in November. Some of these fairways are very large and walking gets old. Course is healing from greens being punched. Even playing at twilight I think it’s a lot . Course is very burnt out in spots. The front is nothing special. Back is very scenic.
