About
Located on the shorefront of Southampton Parish, the Port Royal Golf Course is one of the most frequented public golf courses in Bermuda and it is even known as being one of Jack Nicklaus' favorites. Robert Trent Jones designed this 18-hole course, which hosts the Bermuda Open Championship every year. Doglegs and wind are just some of the factors that will challenge golfers on this course. The signature hole is the scenic and rather infamous 16th, situated precariously atop craggy cliffs that overlook the Atlantic Ocean. The hole requires a nearly perfect shot in order to reach the green. Port Royal Golf Course has garnered such a following that some golfers reserve starting time a year in advance.

Bermuda’s best golf course!
Another great round at Port Royal. Course in excellent condition. Pro shop staff are top notch and super friendly as are all the golf crew. Paid $70 to play which is phenomenal value. Pace of play great as managed to play the course, as a 2 ball, in just under four hours. Highly recommend this course.

A must play
Play a course that the pros play! Good selection of tee boxes and gorgeous views. Very relaxed atmosphere but very professional. Take lots of balls because of the Bermuda grass. Don't forget your camera

Stunning beauty and great golf
Played Port Royal while on a cruise. Rented clubs so definitely did not play as well as I would have liked, but had a great time. Course was in amazing condition, the holes on the ocean were among the most challenging and most beautiful anywhere. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I cannot wait to get back there!

Best 18 hole course in Bermuda
Another excellent round at Port Royal. Course in great condition despite huge downpour of rain earlier in the day. Great value rate of $70 (including cart) for 18 holes for an afternoon round. Staff are super friendly and professional.

Spectacular Course
Love this course. Second time of playing. It is a short course (off the red tees) but a lot of elevated greens so felt longer. Good condition and wonderful views of beautiful Bermuda. That sea colour is amazing. Surprised on a Sunday to see 8 players on the green ahead of us but to be fair they let us straight through and so it didn’t spoil our day. They were certainly enjoying their game which is nice to see. Really friendly people here even when my husband fired an errant shot into a buggy 200 yards ahead (so windy they didn’t hear our yells of Fore). Had a delicious wagyu burger after our round - top quality. Also got an amazing hot deal.

Lack of maintenance
Fairly poor course condition from tee boxes to greens. Not worth the green fees

A true challenge!
This course pushes you to the limit. There are some innocuous looking holes that can undo your round so quickly, if you don’t concentrate. The bunkers are very well located and catch anything going astray. They are all in superb condition. The greens are fast and furious when the wind blows. They don’t take quite as much borrow as I thought they would, but the wind might have been a factor.
This is a visually beautiful course, with holes following the coastline and simply stunning vistas. I played twice over a couple of days and the wind was in opposite directions. That made each round entirely different, which was great. I thought the par 3 holes were all superb, especially the signature 16th. Do not go long, or left!
