Ballater Golf Club
About
This slightly undulating medium length golf course is west of Aberdeen situated in one of the most beautiful parts of upper Deeside. It was founded in 1892 as a nine hole test on land owned by the Laird of Invercauld. When farmland became available in 1905 the course was expanded to 18 holes, providing an exacting challenge in idyllic surroundings. The town and its golf course lie within a circle of hills, providing glorious views and the River Dee runs alongside several of the holes, as it meanders its way down to Aberdeen.

Great Location
This was my first time playing Ballater and it won`t be my last. I played it in perfect conditions which matched the condition of the course. I played on my own when the course was quiet and managed to go round in two and a half hours. Clubhouse and staff were all friendly and I would recommend playing here if you are in the area.
Well presented course.
Ballater is consistently well presented. Friendly staff, stunning scenery and excellent greens are the key features for me.
Ballatar weekend
Played this course sat and sun June 3-4. Really nice course in fantastic condition and the greens are spot on. The course had changed the pin position from the Saturday which made the course more interesting on the Sunday. The pro in the shop was really friendly, which is what you want when your visiting a club. Only issue I had was that there were two four balls in front of me, so I took 4 hrs to get round! Sunday was much better with no such issues. The course is flat all the way round, so would be suitable for less able golfers. I play of 18 and found it challenging even though it's less than 6000 yards. The course is also in beautiful surroundings, which makes for a great day of golf, I would highly recommend it!
Beatifull Ballater
The course was in good condition, despite a cold April with virtually no gass growth the course was in good condition, will be even better in a couple of weeks with the warmer temperatures, best to play course towards end of May or later.
Staff all very friendly and helpful and very nice clubhouse. Stunning views
Course in good condition
Course was in good condition and greens in better shape than 5-6 weeks ago.
2 ball we completed the 18 holes in just over 3hrs on a Saturday morning which was ideal.
Picture perfect
By far the most picturesque golf course that I have had the pleasure of playing. Course was fantastic however every green had been recently fertilised/treated and this impacted considerably when trying to putt. Will I return absolutely. I would highly recommend playing this golf course of you ever find yourself in the north east of scotland.
Lovely course
A very nice parkland course. Course is pretty flat so an easy walk. Par 3s are a sensible distance off yellow tees. Greens were in excellent condition and the backdrop is magnificent.
