Founded in 1902, Braemar Golf Club combines dizzying heights and old-style parklands golf to make it a favorite amongst local golfers, as well as those who have booked Scotland golf packages.

One of the highest golf courses in Scotland, Braemar is set 1,200 feet above sea level, giving players remarkable visages of the brilliant surrounding scenery. Playing to almost 5,000 yards from the back tees, Braemar may not be the longest golf course you'll play, but accuracy is a must for those looking to take advantage of some of the course's birdie holes.

Starting at the first hole - Croft Muickan - set near the ruined wall of the Croft of Muickan - Braemar Golf Club sets golfers off on an adventure of history, breathtaking scenery and solid play.

The Place of Dreams

Okay so you are nestled in the largest national park in Great Britan, the views are spectacular. You can see locals practicing chipping alone. It's a lonely gem, sitting there a few miles from Balmoral castle. If you golf for scenery this place is one of the best. It made me want to own a set of wooden sticks and a sewn golf ball. There are sheep on the course, now if you like a challenging course, with manageable distance, and want to enjoy something akin to a fairy tale round of golf, this is the place. The remoteness and scenery and people make this course a place you never want to leave. Get a tee time around 4 pm, and let the sunset on the mountains as you finish your round then enjoy a perfect single malt and some grub like they did when golf was invented. All the charm of St andrews and non of the crowd.
