Fyvie Golf Course
About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2014.
Located in the picturesque village of Fyvie just south of Aberdeen, Fyvie Golf Course offers beautiful views of the northeastern countryside, from the historic Fyvie Castle to the stunning Bennachie. This pay and play 9-hole course appeals to high handicappers since there are no carries over water, deep rough, or long distances. Low handicappers still need to stay on their toes though since the greens require both accuracy and a deft touch. Fyvie Golf Course's fairways and greens are carefully molded after the natural contours of the rolling landscape and the rough has been sown with wildflowers, creating a picturesque oasis. One notable hole is the seventh, appropriately named "Llama Leg," since it has a layout that is skinny from the fairway to the green.
