Insch Golf Club
About
Insch Golf brings a colorful past, incredible scenery and challenging play to the booming Scotland golf scene. Originally built before World War I, the golf course was used as a grenade range and golf disappeared from the quaint town of Insch until its triumphant return in 1982.
In 1997, Insch was transformed into an 18-hole run, and a new, modern clubhouse has helped make it one of the hidden gems in Aberdeenshire. Playing to more than 5,000 yards from the back tees with a par of 69, Insch is a parkland course where accuracy and course management are a must for players looking to mark down low scores.
Set between the peaks of Bennachie and Dunnideer, in the picturesque village of Insch - just a 40-minute drive from Aberdden - Insch Golf Club is conveniently located near such golf powerhouses as St. Andrews, Cruden Bay and Royal Dornoch.

Decent Golf Course
This was my second time playing Insch it had been a good few years, it is a fairly short course so good if your not a long hitter, there is a nice variety of fairways and greens some courses have alot of parallel fairways that just look the same, you have to cross over a road and take a 5 minute stroll after a few holes and cross back to finish but not a big deal. The course was in decent condition for end of September the greens were a bit slow could have done with being cut again. We didn't have the opportunity in afternoon to use the restaurant as it was now on winter operational times.
Overall for £21 each on golf now it was decent value for money and I'd like another round here during the summer months.
Enjoyed my day
All in all very enjoyable day good at up nice staff will return to play again thank you
Difficult course, good condition
First round at insch, course was in great condition, mostly summer greens. Greens were difficult to read, some thought needed for some of the holes, challenging. Beautiful cenery, quiet place. No food or drink facilities on the course mondays or tuesdays so bring a sandwich and a flask.
Tight course
Narrow fairways not a lot of room for mistakes, tee boxes not well cut grass long in places and soggy and lots of bad divot marks. Green very slow slightly damp when played but still very slow and lines not true. Bunkers very gritty and not great drainage. Quite confusing layout if not played before could do with a course map with the scorecards. Fairways a bit of a mess due to people not replacing divots which isn't the staffs fault and people also not repairing pitch marks on greens Overall decent course and well priced but could do with some maintenance in areas.
Golfing
A lovely place to play golf with very friendly staff potty about the greens not at there best just now but all in all a nice day out.
Good sunday
A very nice place to play golf with friendly staff and a very good kitchen
Great course, well presented
good condition for time of year, bar staff very friendly
Interesting and quirky
Enjoyable day out. Challenging but not too taxing. Course generally well presented although greens were mossy in places. A course that makes you think as you go to select the right shots.
Lovely place to play
Warm and friendly place to play a bit slow with the pace of play due to a Texas scramble but otherwise very enjoyable
Inch Golf Course needs improvements
Had a fantastic round at Inch, but would have been better if we were made aware that some holes had already moved to winter green and even the greens that were in play mostly front nine were like playing at the beach.
Only 5 greens in use
Booked this course as an alternative to the courses in and around Aberdeen. Booked the hot deal and glad we did, as only 5 of the greens were in use. The rest all had a flag in the fairway around 20-30 short of the greens, not even winter greens marked out. This was not detailed at the time of booking, and wouldn't be expected in mid-September after a week of dry weather. I was relieved we hadn't paid the full price.
There was nobody in the club house to book us in or keep us right.
The course was otherwise beautiful, and would have made for an excellent round. It was just a shame we weren't advised at the time of booking.
GREAT ROUND
We stay 30 miles from this course and had never heard of it till a couple of weeks ago, what a find. The course was immaculate and perfect length for us to keep the big numbers off the card.
Good advert for golf in the Highlands
We had a most enjoyable day for our first visit to Insch Golf Club. Great scenery and course layout. The course was in excellent condition despite the maintenance challenges all clubs have been facing as a consequence of the recent lockdown. We were sorry that, due to our time pressure we were unable to sample the catering. We will definitely return for another visit next time we are in the area.
Would happily play again
Great value. Neat, tidy and well kept course. Lovely views and quiet. Some really interesting holes.
