Royal Tarlair Golf Club
About
A clifftop parkland course which represents a challenge for the more serious golfer. There are two main features, the first being the famous 13th hole 'Clivet' a hole every golfer should experience. This exhilarating hole offers the golfer the opportunity to test their nerve and resolve to the limit, as well as providing a scenic hole which will remain with you for years to come. The second feature is the quality of the greens at Tarlair, the envy of most clubs in the area.

Lovely course but would benefit from clearer markers
Really enjoyed the course but struggled to find one or two of the tees particularly the 16. A direction arrow or two wouldn’t go amiss. However a testing course in great condition
Excellent value for money
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our round of golf at Royal Tarlair. The course was in very good condition. The views from the cliff top were amazing. Based on our experience we feel that some of the less positive reviews do not give the course the credit it deserves. It was bright and breezy. The wind presented a stiff challenge on many of the holes. Thankfully the rough was noticeable by its absence !. The 13th is spectacular. The 14th, back up the cliff side, is less so ! We almost had the course to ourselves and completed the round in 3.5 hours. It is not a championship course, but worth playing whilst on holiday and great value for money.
A wee gem.
What a great value for money golf course. I have been fortunate to play many of the best courses in the world such as Pebble Beach, Pine Valley, Merion and many Open venues. The par 3 13th hole may be the best par 3 I have ever played, way better than the 7th at Pebble. It’s worth the green fee alone. The condition was fair and the layout good in parts and not so in others but for the price I find it hard to beat. If you want lush fairways and manicured greens go play elsewhere. If you want a smile and good fun book here. I will play it the next time I am in town for sure and smile once again.
Heavy going
Lovely course layout and the 13th hole view is one of the best ive ever seen. However the condition of the course massively let it down. The greens were like fairways and the fairways were like heavy rough .. just far too much grass all round and could do The ball stops dead where it lands absolutely no run what so ever. I felt let down for the price and could play alot better courses for the same money £25.
Absolutely stunning par 3 -13th hole
Loved it, beautiful surroundings.played it again next day so I could play the 13th again
Cracking track
Lovely course played for the first time. Some amazing views. Greens had a lovely roll but still couldn't hole many putts
