Oldmeldrum Golf Club
About
For many years a nine hole course, the course was extended to its present eighteen holes between 1987 and 1989. A par 70 course, measuring just under 6200 yards, it presents a varied and challenging test of golf, requiring accurate play off the tee and a good short game on the approaches to the small and tricky greens. The course has few hidden hazards, and what you see in front of you is what you have to conquer.
The first and last holes, containing slight doglegs, are much more testing than they would appear from the card, and if you can start and finish with two fours, you can be well satisfied. The Par 3 11th hole looks more intimidating than it really is, but requires a clean shot over the water. If you duff it, you are likely to be dropping another ball at the side of the pond.

Family Day Out
Fantastic little course, staff in pro shop were so helpful and full of chat and welcoming. Unfortunately due to COVID we could not get a pint before hand which was disappointing as we could have been outside. Was hoping to may purchase some clothing etc from the course but not a massive range.
As for the course was excellent condition, even with so much wet weather. Greens were very good. Challenging but advice from the staff helped a lot before we went out. Will definitely be back and really enjoyed our COVID family outing!
Grand afternoon at Oldmeldrum
A lovely afternoon with bright sunny weather and a bit of a breeze blowing made Oldmeldrum a fine challenge. Course was in excellent condition considering how much rain the area had had earlier in the week. Very accommodating shop staff made us feel very welcome.
Course was in excellent condition
Fairways and greens were well maintained, though course was busy slow play was minimal. Really enjoyed the experience and will definitely play again
First time at Oldmeldrum
This was my third round of the long weekend at three different courses and by far the most enjoyable .
Nice wide fairways to be able to pummel the ball down and greens which were in very good condition for the time of year.
I would certainly recommend it and will be back myself to play it again soon.
Lovely course
Really enjoyed the 3 rounds I’ve had there. Nice greens, good challenging variety of holes.
Oldmeldrum Golf Course
Good course to play if you’re in the area. The course was in very good condition and all the holes were interesting and there were few, of any, blind shots.
Nice midweek twilight round
Nice course, decent test for any level and forgiving for most part. Greens in really good shape, Hamish in the pro shop is exactly as the reviews say - a real character! Nice welcoming guy, gave a few pointers on course management, which helped! Good value and pace of play, no complaints at all.
Good course, very friendly pro and members.
Was a member 20 years ago, and always try and get a game when home. The club Pro Hamish is a top guy, and put me out with a couple of friendly members to play along with. Course has a good verity of holes and the trees have certainly added a challenge. Recommend and great value for money.
Good Parkland Course
Lovely Course in good condition, club house was a little manic and timings were a bit off but overall good value for money.
The first and 18th which share a fairway let the overall course down, with everything behind this lovely, some beautiful par 3s and lengthy par 5s.
Course closed with no notifications
We arrived at the course to play to be greeted with an empty clubhouse and a course closed sign. We have also been charged in full by golfnow for a round we didn’t get to play. Very disappointed.
Great experience
Old meldrum gc is a lovely course not to difficult nor to easy. It has plenty of practice areas to warm up using including a range. Unfortunately the pace of play was very slow but this was no fault of the clubs. The club pro Hamish is very friendly, helpful and has some great deals in his shop.
I will definitely be back!
Great course not to hard for a beginner but not easy either a few tricky holes good size fairways, greens are kept really nice, staff are very friendly
Oldmeldrum
Lovely course in good condition. Some quirky jokes and hard holes resulting in a well balanced course. Thoroughly enjoyed our game and will definitely be back to play.
Winter greens in May
Course is on top of Oldmeldrum, with good vistas across the course. Having arrived at the course to be advised of winter greens, due to course maintenance, it was disappointing this had not been advised to GolfNow as I would not have played it.
Was not the most interesting of courses and don’t believe I’d return any time soon. At a cost of £17 there are much better courses in the central belt for similar fees.
