Willows Run Golf Club - Coyote Creek Course
About
Willows Run Golf Club in Redmond offers four courses: two championship 18-hole links courses, a family-friendly par 3, and an 18-hole putting course. There is something for every golfer at Willows Run no matter what skill level. Coyote Creek is one of the championship courses. The par-72 layout is 6,344 yards from the back tees. The golf course has a classic links design that is mostly straightforward but you can still expect some challenges, especially with water coming into play on nearly every hole. There are a few strategically placed bunkers as well as some rough. You'll also face the occasional dogleg. With the terrain being mostly flat, the terrain is easily walkable. The course is approachable for beginners but the nine-hole, par-3 and the putting courses are also good options for new players.

falling off
I play both courses several times each summer. This summer several aspects are only getting worse. The outside course tee blocks are a mess. The fairways burnt or bald in many spots. Greens are good though. Inside course just a tad better. Both very sub par. The thing that bothered me the most is that although they charge you an arm and a leg to play they do not enforce a proper dress code. Muscle shirts or tee shirts I know are not a normal dress code for this course. I even mentioned a muscle shirt player to the starter who checked in with the starter and was on the group on eagles getting ready to tee off and after telling the starter that I too would like to work on my tan by wearing a cut off shirt. He did not reply to me nor ask the golfer to get a proper shirt on. There seems to be a lack of enforcement on this course and others. They Are So IN Need Of Players They Will Not Risk Losing Greens Fees As Well As THE Redmond Tax They charge us as well. It is sad because just a few years ago this was one of my favorites.
Great course!
Good all around course. A little short but has some challenging shots. Highly recommend!
NIce round of golf.
Course is in great shape. The greens are in the best condition they've been all year. The pace of play was good, considering the excellent weekend weather.
coyote creek
Overall the course was in good condition. This might be due to the fact that it is a very wet marshy area. Middle of August and not a brown spot in sight.
The downside was that it felt very humid in the low 80s heat and on some holes the smell of the marshy area was gagging.
The green conditions meant that there was no hard pan and the greens weren't overly fast.
Plan on plenty of time for the round with many slower players on it. Can be frustrating and not allow you to get into any kind of swing groove.
"RUN from Willows Run"
Run Away from Willows Run..!
If you have an Corporate Golf Event at Willows, you'll only Regret it afterwards...
I've played both courses at Willows Run for many years. I play a lot of golf and "used to like" playing these courses. Both courses Eagle's and Coyote's playability have continually deteriorated to a point that it would be better to just play Wayne in Bothell or Kenwanda near Snohomish (as informed to me by the others in my group) because they are in better shape for half the price while being on par (course maintenance wise). I wouldn't place either of Willows Run's courses condition above a 2 on a 1 to 10 scale. I don't know anything about the Par 3 course. I've played Eagle around 8 times throughout this year. Each time I've finished the round and swore that I wouldn't come back until the course condition warranted a return or the management even cared that I played the course. Today, Saturday (7/18/2014) was the worst yet. Major bald spots throughout the fairways. The fringe is burned out around most greens. Several greens have multiple dead streaks or huge dead patches across the greens apparently from hydraulic leaks on the maintenance equipment. Major areas around most of the greens are bare and the ball will settle in bare areas next to poorly maintained grass clumps making any opportunity to get up and down difficult. Today, the round took 5 hours and 22 minutes. Several tee boxes had 2 groups waiting to tee off, making for more complaining. Apparently, seven groups in front of us was playing their first round of golf. Nice... Marshals have no power or authority to do anything other than to make excuses.
It's clear that the exceedingly poor condition and horrible playing quality of this course is due to the sever reduction of the maintenance budget. There is no other reason. Willows isn't even close to being overplayed. Actually, it's apparent that the course isn't being played very much due to the fact that most seem to be avoiding Willows. So, you should be able to get a tee time almost any time easily.
The other three players in my group complained about the course and slow play so much it just reinforced my lack of desire to return. They stated that they won't be back, nor will I.
The only bright spot in the day was when you actually had a clear line to the hole on the green, the putt ran true. Surprise...!
During and after the round I (we) felt that I (we) wasted my (our) time playing Eagle and felt that I (we) was (were) Robbed. As mentioned above, go play another course and you'll be glad that you did. Either play a course similar in condition and save $30 - $50 bucks or go to Druids or an Oki course and be happy with the course you spent your day on. Go to an Oki course where they understand how to take care if a course and where it's fun to play a course that cares. You could also go to the sister course of willows named Druids Glen. Druids Glen has finally benefited and understood how bad maintenance can effect your reputation and repeat play. They are back on track. So, I make the 45 minute journey without a second thought because you'll be rewarded with a good course that you'd like to spend your time on.
It's also clear that Willows thinks quite a bit of themselves. Charging Mid-Summer rates while delivering a seriously sub-par course condition with an elitist attitude is mind boggling. Sometimes, it's not always about the Location, Location, Location. It's about the perceived value vs you're golfing experience that seems to fall short in the managements considerations. To them, I believe it's about getting your money without delivering the goods. I wonder how they get anyone to return to play twice? I truly wonder how they take anyone's money to play there with a straight face?
In closing, do yourself a favor and play Willows Next Year and see if the ownership has actually learned how to take care of there existing patrons and hopefully by then the courses condition vs being concerned mostly about profits while beating down the course into a cattle farm.
Don't waste your time, Run from Willows Run.

Good golf course
Great availability and course personnel were great. Pace of play was also excellent
Great value!
Great value with overall great course condition for the season.
bad communication skill from staff.
Staff are smile but bad communication skill to listen their customer what they want. Just talk...
Very slow pace without any assistance from the Marshall's
Will not play again course conditions were not what I would normally expect from willows got a great deal on golf now if I would have payed full price would have been very dissapointed
Needs TLC
I really like Eagles Talon. I learned golf here and I would consider it my home course. They need to take care of the geese excrement all over the track. Also the ground crew needs to be a little more careful when mowing the fairways the last couple of times there were mounds of grass clippings all over the fairways and greens. It is going to be slow on the weekends so know that going in and it won't bother you just make sure you are a foursome.
Good Condition
The course is in excellent condition for how much play it gets. Both courses have good layouts and have its challenges. Would recommend to others.
SLOW SLOW SLOW
SLOW!
Slowest pace of play I have ever played. This is slower than metropolitan muni courses on a weekend afternoon.
basic full length course..too popular for own good as it played very slow
Slow play, lack of Marshall ing..greens in good shape
Great walking course
The course was easy to walk and the facilities were well maintained.
Good value for the money if you get GolfNow deal.
We played Coyote Run and it was in spotty condition. The course layout is not a very difficult but the combination of high rough in some places combined with bare, hard pan in others made it much more difficult. While the greens were mainly in good condition, the fairways were burnt and spotty in many places. The pace of play was slow (5 hrs) but that could have been due to the fact they had a Friday afternoon tournament on Eagles Talon and they were forced to send everyone else out on Coyote Run. They need to spend more on improving the course condition.
Interesting course that's not real hard but has its challenges.
Great track for the average golfer. Even though the course was full the pace of play was good. Well marshaled a d in very good condition.
The course is very playable and in good condition.
I played Coyote course on 7/22. The course was in fine shape and well maintained for a Monday. It was a very fair course from the white tees - leaning toward the easy side. I shot even par on front side which is very rare for me. So I had a great time. Driver is not required on most holes. A well located drive makes all greens accessible. Greens were in nice shape.
Needs some work
Overall course was in ok shape for the amount of play. The rough has been cut but the clippings needed another mowing as it looks messy. Some tee blocks were not maintained as well.
