Forres Golf Club
About
Designed by Open Championship winners James Braid and Willie Park, this par-70 golf course measures just under 6,300 yards from the tips. Forres Golf Club may not be a very long play by today's standards, but it is nevertheless a challenging round of golf.
Renowned for its views over the Findhorn Bay and the Noray Firth, the golf course is a wonderfully maintained, visually stunning layout. Forres is full of memorable holes, none more so than No. 16. Called the "Pond," this hole punishes errant tee shots with a watery grave.
Forres Golf Club has hosted the Scottish Professional Championship, the Northern Open and the Scottish Young Professionals Championships.
A clubhouse with a bar and restaurant is on site. There's also a stocked pro shop.

Good for this time of year
Course in ok condition for time of year but was dissapointed after booking with Golfnow that it was a short course due to winter tees and greens with no prior warning. There was also 1 hole closed and a par 5 made into 2 par 3's.
Booking through Golfnow made this Course more expensive as the walk on price was the same as Golfnow price but had to pay a booking fee.
Dissapointment all directed at Golfnow not the golf club.
Fantastic greens
Well done to the greens keeper. Greens are in beautiful condition; smooth and true. Forres is a great course, well worth a visit . Neil
Secluded gently undulating golf course
Due to severe winter fairways very bare with little growth evident . Greens recently treated and consequently not running true.
Course is a little predictable with a lot of up and down parallel holes of virtually identical length. The 16th the only real stand out hole. Reasonable value for money.
We found this course very enjoyable fir a high handicapper it was very good some hard holes and some easier a very nice well looked after course just wish my golf was as good
Interesting course
The course was in great condition and the layout really interesting with some great views.
The course does not over book tee times and therefore the pace was great - two of us round in just over three hours.
Would love to play again
Winter
Disappointed that the full 18 holes were on winter greens . The course layout is very good
Stunning Course
Will definitely be coming back and showing it to others
Great Day at Forres
Lovely course. Quiet, rapid play and course in magnificent condition. One bizarre point - it cost a whole pound more booking with this site than if I had simply turned up! Not the fault of the course but just call in advance and see what rates they offer!
Superb course.
Great course with lots of different types of terrain to keep all Levels of golfers on their toes. Friendly staff and very nice food .
Fantastic!
Got this on a hot deal for 22 pound feel like I owe the club money. Layout and course condition fantastic. Best greens this year. If you can't putt on these you can't putt.
Scenic course
Some of the greens just cored , actual rate at club thus reduced to £15 rather than £20 on this website . A lovely course with some interesting holes and a good length for high handicappers
Dodged the weather!
Lovely course in very good condition. Very heavy rain just before we started had some slight flooding on a couple of greens but that was to be expected given the volume of rain that fell. Mostly dry for our round. Nice layout and interesting challenges. Greens in fine condition. Only the calls of Fore were disconcerting on a couple of holes. Some guys ahead must have been over-cooking it! I like to think that I'll play there again next time I'm nearby.
Superb greens
But shame about the bunkers!!
Don't get me wrong, I've played Forres 40 times and the course was in the best shape ever.... the greens were divine, medium fast but looked and putted smooth as silk. If you missed it was your fault. Great speed of play on a bank holiday and good weather laid on.
Alright, the criticism...... bunkers had variable sand depths but more importantly the members playing in front hadn't bothered to rake when they'd been in. How rude
