course has short layout
Have played this course several times and have always enjoyed playing there. Had a good time but the weather changed on the last few holes with hail. Will play there again when it gets warmer.
Links golf with trees
I find the course to be fairly easy to play and usually play from the blues at this course only to add distance. Fairways are framed by grass coverd hills, fairway & greenside bunkers with a few large trees and ponds tossed in here and there. Holes range from reachable par 4s to some pretty technical stuff that cam make or break a round. Greens always look blothchy especially in winter but roll fast and true. The 9th and 18th holes can be eagled by single digit players buy can be double bogeys for the same players if you get out of shape. Its a nice course, very unique terrain and n good shape year round
Had a good day out on the course.
Upon arrival checked in with the front desk, they had all the reservation info, so grabed a cart and headed out.
Excellent "out of season" golf.
The course is in very good condition for coming out of winter. Fairways and tee boxes were better than expected and the greens were much better than expected. The overall experience was well worth the 3 hour drive.
Hard to beat for winter golf
I'm from Spokane and playing in the winter is always a treat, especially when the course is in great shape and the staff super friendly.
Good course with friendly staff. Locals are a bit much!
early season play from neighbors 3 hrs to the north. course was in good condition and the staff was accomodating and friendly. locals were pretentious and acted as if out of towners didnt belong on.
goose dropping alert
The course was in good condition for this time of year. greens were pretty good. Course really needs to address goose dropping issue.
Great pace at a great price.
Great layout , tee boxes are elevated with nice fairways and smooth greens . Would highly recommend playing Columbia Point . The kitchen is good and the staff is great !
Great deal
Course in good shape, not too challenging, greens in good shape, good place for a quick round.
Great time, no wind and consistant greens.
the tee time was convieniant and the price was very resonable.
Excellent Golfing Experiance and Value
This golfing outing was perfect. The pending poor - wet weather kept most other golfers away and my golfing buddy and I pretty much had the course to our-self's (note: the poor weather never materialized). The course was in great shape and fairways/greens soft from the recent rains (the divot tool was busy). Great time.
Fun course, staff and clubhouse friendly and helpful. They are great there, Had to be over two hours late for tee time and they let me right out!
Fun course. Friendly staff, accommodating, good food, good practice area.
Typical Tri-Cities course, overpriced with bad management
This course is so typical of Tri-Cities golf courses: overpriced and poorly managed. Typically, people in a small town are nice but the "elitist" employees and management at this and other local courses really take the enjoyable atmosphere out of playing golf. The watchdogs on this course monitor it like it's Augusta National, however, the course is nothing more then a well mowed, flat, boring, easy golf course with nothing challenging except controlling your own emotions once management or employees upset you. The greens are EXTREMELY overrated, they are apparently smooth and fast but I don't agree due to countless unrepairable marks, grass clippings and leaves all over, not to mention they plug the greens two or three times too many each year. An absolutely atrocious golf experience that I do not recommend to anybody.
No, it's not just the players not repairing marks on the greens, it's the grass clippings, leaves, damaged sections, and overall inconsistency of the greens due to excessive plugging. The greens are overrated, plain and simple. Golf outside of Tri-Cities and you'll see what I mean.
You are blaming the groundskeepers for players laziness to repair greens? Play in the summer sometime when you don't see a marshall at all. In the nice winter weather they are out but not in the 90 degree heat. I do agree with you that all the courses in the Tri-Cities are overpriced and columbia point is poorly managed.
1) Columbia Point is in no way, shape, or playability (if that's a word) like links golf. You clearly have no understanding of links golf.
2) There are no "technical stuff"... the course is extremely easy as evident by the handicap and layout. Which holes are you referring to where there is "technical stuff"?
3) The greens most definitely do not roll fast hahaha. Have you played any other courses? Columbia Point greens are bumpy, super soft, and as a result: slow.
4) Any hole can be double bogeyed if a player gets out of shape.
