The revered Tom Morris designed this golf course more than 100 years ago. It measures just under 7,000 yards from the tips and plays to a par 71.

The links design boasts plenty of gorse and pot bunkers. On some of the holes at Moray Golf Club, reaching the green is extremely manageable; others require precise pitch-and-run shots.

The facility includes a clubhouse, which hasn't changed much in the last 75 years, with changing rooms. Visitors are welcome.

Great course but fairways need sorted

Still a great course but the fairways were awful. We played preferred lies. Not sure what has happened but hope they get it sorted soon as this is a wonderful course with great views. Sadly we didn't see any low level jets either!

Great Value, fantastic course

An excellent course and fantastic value. Quite rightly one of the best tracks in Scotland. Greens rolling perfect. Challenging front 9 with slightly easier back 9. A steal playing this course for £43 pound in the height of the summer months and an opportunity not to be missed.

Traditional Links

Arrived and asked directions to the Old Course I had unknowingly asked the Club Captain who introduced himself and politely guided me to the starters office.
I was allowed to play from the White Medal tees which I always think gives a true reflection of the course. You can also play from the Gents yellow tees if you wish.
Good conditions with a slight breeze on the day and a true links challenge awaited.
Some stunning views around the course and the chance of a low flying jet flying overhead from RAF Lossiemouth add to the theatre.
Brilliant course with some tricky longer par 4s.
Not that any hole was a Gimme par.
Traditional old school links which will test any golfer from the back Tees. Keep an eye on your ball if its rough bound as it can easily hide from view.
I wish every golf experience was as rewarding as this. Give it a go. Superb in every way.
Thanks Moray Golf club.

Kevin.

Best course ever

Played a lot of courses in Scotland but this rates as one of the best including an aeronautical display coming out of the base at Lossie

Classic Links in Town

Like North Berwick and, of course, The Old Course, Lossiemouth (Moray-Old) begins and ends in town. Although not quite of the same caliber as those two courses, Moray is quite enjoyable. The greens are true, you do have holes along the Firth, Wind is definitely a factor, you can play along the ground as well as in the air, bunkering is strategic and not overly abundant and it is an easy walk.
The 18th is the best hole on the course, but I also enjoyed the par 5 second with its dell like sunken green as well as the par 3 15th. The rest of the holes are solid, and the fairways are rumpled so you get lies that are not easy.
Yes, the RAF is there. You even play holes with runway lights near the tee boxes or the fairway. To paraphrase Dan Akroyd in the Blues Brothers, the planes "Come by so often, you won't even notice". I thought they gave a unique feel to the place and did not find them to be distracting. Wait for them to fly over and it is quiet again.
The staff was very nice and got me out twice with ease. This would not be at the top of a list of best links, but it is still enjoyable and the 18th is about as good as it gets. If in the Firth area for multiple days or even Inverness, this would be a good place to spend a day.
