Pretty okay
Rather new to golf. People playing seemed nice. A lot of waiting on groups ahead. 5 players averaging triple bogeys tends to slow the pace. 3rd tee box under repair and they put the temporary one in a nasty spot. These holes are pretty short with 2 holes being over 200 yards. All in all was good. Of course when your game is going well probably didn't hurt :)
Still nice after playing this course 20 years ago
This course was nice to play great pace of play, a wonderful course to play , A nice gem in Orange County
Great first time out
Course was in pretty good shape after heavy rains warlier in the week. The 4th hole was a little juicy but other than that great. The crossing from 6 to 7 had a few inches of water running across so dont wear your best non-waterproof shoes if it recently rained. The greens ran pretty smooth around a 8-9. Tees were pretty good. Fun course with 2 short par 4's of 210 and 270 (played shorter with tees way up). The par 3's were a little on the shorter side between 65-120 yards but fun with some water around the greens. The 9th hole is a little goofy- play to the right of the fairway trap to have an angle and view of the hole. Staff was very friendly. Teed off at 7 am on a Saturday and pace was around 1:40.
It’s coming along
Haven’t played here in about a year or two, but I gotta say, super impressed with the upgrades to the range and other practice areas. Having a track man at a place like this is super cool in my opinion. As for course conditions…I mean look, you’re paying $18 so you shouldn’t be expecting carpets any where on the course. Pace of play was awesome, finished in about 90 minutes. Other golfers in the course were great and friendly. No one rushing each other etc
Weather was porr
Probably not an honest review because of the bad weather. Really muddy and wet. However the course was okay. Couldn’t really use all my clubs, mainly stuck with 2. Range was closed too
Fun quick course to tighten up your short game
It is a fun quick course to tighten up your short game. The greens are a nice conditions. There’s a lot of trees it’s peaceful and every time I’ve been I didn’t feel rushed and I had enough time to play my round with no issues. If you just want to play a quick nine hole, this is a very short, small, easy access course.
This is a golf course?
The short fairways are fine. Aside from shape of the greens, the terrible soggy tee boxes, the holes in the fairway and the rude staff, this place is great. I recommend simply hitting a bucket of balls. But not here, they are $20. That’s 40% more than a bucket at a great golf course like Oak Creek or San Juan Hills.
Where is the value?
Just when you think….
Just when you think you’ve found a dump of a course….
Check-in:
- Arrived about an hour early to pickup our carts, warm up with a bucket and do a little chipping as it’s a short course. That’s when the wheels came off….
- This place seems to have been inherited by the current owners who clearly put no effort into it while benefiting from being surrounded by homes with folks of some disposable income. We were stoked to hear about Trackman on the range but that’s where the good ended.
- This place will nickel and dime you to death. Rubber tees = extra. Using Trackman = extra. Chipping/pitching = hourly extra.
- They have one cart.
Range:
- Normally don’t review a driving range but this one was interesting.
- Two tiers without knowing it and again Trackman was extra.
- Cheap balls and again, practice rubber tees were extra.
- With all the nickel and diming though karma has a sense of humor. When we finished our round, there was a bit of an uproar at the clubhouse. Apparently, they were out of balls in the machine. I wonder if the staff had to pay to use the picker.
Course:
- Good luck finding the first tee. Girl at the counter was oblivious to providing any direction and after we asked about a scorecard and pencil (we were legit waiting to hear these were extra), pointed us in the right direction.
- Greens were actually ok. Course layout and care is poor and that’s being a bit generous. Over growth everywhere, trash, weeds, etc. You name it, it’s here.
Overall:
- I love pitch and putt courses as they almost always have a thing that draws you to come back. The 9th hole was literally the one good thing about this entire course as it’s a nice little dog leg left over a hazard. That said…without knowing the course ahead of time, and no map, we sit blind to an estimated landing area forfor approach. Birdied out but yeah….
- Sadly, I cannot recommend this course and definitely won’t be returning. It has potential but not how it’s being run.
Fun course for my first ever round
Yes, this was the first time I’ve ever played a round of golf. It’s a fun course. The greens are really sandy though. That’s my only real “complaint”. Otherwise, for the money, I think it’s totally worth checking out. I’m sure I’ll play here several more times while I work to improve my game.
