Tom Morris was one of the original designers of this golf course, which was founded in 1888. Today, Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club is sometimes described as a jewel in the Scottish Higlands.

The club started as a nine-hole layout but was later extended to a full 18. Twenty years after the original design was laid out, Tom Vardon added pot bunkers for another dimension of difficulty.

Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club, which offers excellent mountain views, measures 5,001 yards from the tips. Its self-labelled claim to fame is its drive from tee to green on the first hole, which features the longest drop on any golf course in Scotland.

The facility includes a clubhouse.

Great course

Played this course today and thoroughly enjoyed it. We hired a buggy and I'm very glad we did. From tee box to green the course was immaculate. One concern I have is the poor marking to the next tee. We figured it out but it made you think. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. This course is a must for any golfer. I put this on par with Murray Halls lynedoch course. Stunning. Staff were lovely to

Great coarse

Spectacular views aground the coarse could not really fault anything. Coarse a bit burnt in patches but was to be expected due to the very warm weather

Outstanding natural beauty

Some spectacular holes. Be prepared for undulating terrain but course well laid out. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff.
