The Links at Hiawatha Landing
About
The Links at Hiawatha Landing sits along the banks of the Susquehanna River, nestled between the Finger Lakes and the Catskill Mountains. It's one of New York's premier upscale public golf courses. Despite the name, the course has more of a heathland layout than a true links course since it lacks the seaside location that is the cornerstone of traditional Scottish links golf courses. The design still has many links features though including windswept sand bunkers. The rolling terrain provides a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic and the tall grasses make accuracy a necessity. Water comes into play on seven holes but there aren't any forced carries or blind shots, making the golf course approachable for even high handicappers. The Links at Hiawatha Landing finishes with a challenging par 5 that doglegs left around a large pond.

Links at Hiawatha
One of the best coarses in our area Always look forward to playing a round of golf hete
Tee off at the Linls
The season is just starting and already this coarse is fun to play. Challenging everyone who loves golf
This course was in good condition considering its still winter. But the temp was 65* and comfortable considering its only March 4th! Was surprised they were open, but was a gift that they were. The course was wet (expected) with cart path only on the front and for the 11th and 12th holes on the back. Greens still showed small holes from the Fall aerification, but were rolling pretty true and pretty fast considering. Fun Links style course with some personality. One of my favorite courses. I live near Syracuse, NY, but was well worth the hour-15-minute drive. I strongly recommend this course! When the course gets back to summer perfect it is definitely a 5-star course. IMO one of the best course in NYS.
Fantastic links style golf course, But....
Always a great golf course to play and one of the big three courses in the Binghamton area, along with Conklin Players Club and En-Joie golf club. Three negative takeaways were the greens hade recently been poked. But were about 74% healed but slow and still slightly bumpy, Give it another week or two to be fully healed. (not mentioned that GolfNow never mentioned the poked greens) Also, the bunkers were unkept. And some of the cart paths were in terrible shape. Some of the holes were cart path only, but I had to ride out away from the cart path as otherwise my back would not have survived the hard bumpy ride. I am mostly talking about the cart path along the river holes.
And now back to the good. From Tee to green was in great shape for this time of year. Love the course design, a beautiful professional style layout. Extremely picturesque. Course is full of possible signature holes. Staff was very friendly. Overall a fantastic experience minus a few negatives. Would strongly recommend it. Well worth the over hour ride from the Syracuse area. And the GolfNow rate was a bonus at less than $30. Hope to play it again before winter sets in. I'd have given it 5 stars except for a few minor negatives.
Fall golf
Beautiful day great golf course doesn’t get any better
Rough a bit too much and not picturesque
Nice layout but the abundance of dandelions thought out the golf course did not make it as scenic as some pictures suggested. Rough a bit overly grown to the point of unplayable and caused for slow play with groups searching for lengthy periods of time. Some tee boxes a bit rough. Understand though recent wet weather may have contributed to the not so perfect conditions. Staff was friendly and helpful and the pro shop was nicely stocked.
The Links
Always enjoy playing this coarse. Sand traps were up grated which made it easier to escape the traps. Over all great day at the Links
Links at Hiawatha
First round of many at this fabulous golf coarse. Definitely one of the best venues in our area
First links outing
Course was fantastic everyone was friendly. Hotdogs 10/10
Beautiful...but...
The leaves were at peak...the course was wet...the weather was warm. Played it years ago. Great layout. Good greens. Interesting holes. Unfortunately the course is not what it once was. The cart paths are in dreadful condition. Condition was good but only good and not 5 star quality by any means. Nobody seems to fix ball marks. Fun day but the course is a little run down. Kind of makes sense I guess since it kind of out of the way. Here's hoping it regains its former glory.
Links at Hiawatha - Aug 23
Played early on Aug 23, and was started on back 9 .to accomodate a local group at 9 am. Really enjoyed the layout, and was impressed the greens had been cut to accommodate the early start. Found the fairways left tight lies, would not call them lush. Not awful at all, just not lush .. Rough was very challenging, mix of fescue, and natural inconsistent grasses. Perhaps not fair, but the day prior I had played Conklin Players Club about 30 minutes away. It was very lush, so part of the reason for my compare..Hiawatha Staff was first rate and I will play again ! Enjoyable morning.
Sunday Funday with friends
We had a great time playing Hiawatha, we brought friends along to our favorite weekend place to play. The pace of play was on que, and there were groups on every hole. The course is in great condition for as dry as it has been this month!
