Good Value
Fairly flat open layout. No houses and very pretty. Conditions are average for a muni. It WILL be wet in the winter. Very nice in the summer. Greens can get fast when dry. Practice facilities are top notch. HUGE all grass practice tee. Covered mats for winter. Large practice green and separate green for short game and bunker play. Yes a practice bunker. Nice restaurant. 20% discount for daily fee players. In the summer T-Time for weekend play. Weekday afternoons probably walk on.
Terrible greens
The course was a bit soggy, grass clippings clumped and all over the place. Greens were very bumpy and bit sandy, frankly worst greens I’ve ever played. Also, I found out that out that our GolfNow “hot deal” was more expensive than the going rate st the course by quite a bit actually. Our total cost for 2 at GolfNow was over $72. If I would have booked at the course directly it would have cost $25 per person and come with a complimentary sleeve of balls. Will have to double check to confirm that “hot deal” is actually what it pretends to be.
Fun track!
nice course good condition. Odd thing is a par 3 on each 9 has 2 different holes. Played one long one and one short one.
Fun round...tad slow...
Wife had all day appointments near by...told me to go golfing so I went and check out Tumwater. Golfed with some great guys...one was a PLayers assistant. Fairways had a ton of crabgrass...on course OB on some holes was very annoying...and some of the pin placements were nonsensical...great round nice day...no true complaints
I really like this course
This is the closest 18 hole course to our house. Since picking the game up again I have been using their practice facilities a lot, they have a good driving range and I really like their practice greens, and I finally got out to play a full 18 hole round yesterday afternoon.
I went out as a single and was paired up with another single and a twosome, all of which were only playing 9 holes. I am not sure why but they had us start off on 10 and we played the back 9 first and IMO I think that this is how the course should be laid out, I thought that holes 1 through 9 are actually better holes than 10-18.
The course was in really good shape, but a few places marked and ground under repair, but the fairways were in good shape and the greens seemed to be in good shape, but to be honest, after many years of playing golf in Arizona I still haven't figured out how to put on the greens up here in Western Washington.
The pace of play started out good but after a few holes we were backed up on each hole. After the turn I was invited to play through 2 groups, as I was a single at this point, and joined a 3some for the last 3 holes.
I really like this course. When you haven't played any real golf in a number of years, and are just starting to get out regularly again, this course offers a good amount of challenge. Most holes are not friendly to a slice, and right now I am tending to slice to more than I would like, but it is motivation to correct that bad habit.
Great
The only thing was the sprinklers came on before we was finished and we had three more groups behined us
Very nice course!!!
We've played Tumwater before and didn't have a problem with the "pace of play" but this time it was right after the US Open and I guess everyone had to come out and play. We had a group of four in front of us and a single behind us and it bunched things up.
The staff is very friendly, IMO.
This course is a fun summer course.
Played this course on a Monday. The pace was great for the first 5 holes then it slowed down noticeably. There are some fun holes that reward you for a long drive, but will eat you up if you have a tendency to slice. The fairways and greens were firm, but green and the pin locations were challenging. It was an enjoyable round of golf and I would definitely play this course again.
Extremely slow pace.
This is the second time I've played here and on both occasions it has been painfully slow. Great course but I wouldn't head out unless you have five hours to burn.
Really good golf value.
I like the course a lot and it's a really good value. A good place to eat after your round.
Great as always!
Great as always! Staff is very friendly and we were paired up with a nice couple from Covington.
Nice course
Greens were bumpy from recent aeration. Ball plugged from most drives that hit fairway. Expected that from spring golf, should improve with warmer days. From what I saw, the practice facilities were more than adequate. Would golf here again.
This course was an awsome course to play at
This was an awesome course to play. Wide open for the beginner golfer. Descent green fees and the bar has great food and decently priced drinks. Will definitely play this course again!
Tumwater Valley
I wish I would have known the greens were punched.
Great value course
Except for the freshly punched and sanded greens this was still a great value. The fairways were in mid-season shape and the pace was well managed. Kudos to all the staff.
Friendly course
This course has friendly staff, good greens, fair test of golf skills for all levels.
Great course for the money!
Course was a little soggy however the greens were rolling great! Can't beat this course for the low cost!
