Charleton Golf and Country Club
About
Charleton Golf & Country Club boasts a reputation for being one of the most attractive golf courses in Fife. It sits just minutes from St. Andrews but it offers impressive views over the Firth of Forth that make it a completely unique experience. The parkland layout starts out gently enough but really becomes challenging on the fourth hole, which is a par 5 that plays uphill. There are numerous bunkers strategically placed around the greens and the occasional water hazard comes into play, perhaps most notably on the tricky par-4 11th. The par-4 17th is the signature hole, known for its second shot that is played over a wall onto a narrow green. In addition to the course, Charleton Golf & Country Club also boasts a nine-hole pitch-and-putt course and a driving range.

An experience in the rain
It was raining when we played, until the 9th hole.Course was in good nick though probably appreciated the water. Greens were good though with some very interesting propositions and challenging undulations to navigate on some. Weary at the end due to mixture of conditions and course. Disappointed to find the clubhouse closed once we had completed our round admittedly think we might have been the only ones on the course but a nice cup of tea would have warmed us all up and hence only a 3 for off-course amenities. Good and challenging course , decent driving off the tee required and a keen eye for the putting too.
Value for money in east neuk
The course is in good condition particularly the greens. Nice layout with some challenging holes. Suitable for all levels of folder. Clubhouse staff friendly and welcoming. Clubhouse basic and could do with some modernisation. All round great value for money in an area where golf doesn't come cheap. Well worth a visit.
good day out
played once again at Charleton and as before course was in good condition. Not many other golfers so we had a relaxing time going around at our own pace
A Great Days Golf
Good Course - the course was dry and the greens were fast considering the weather we have had. Good Food a full breakfast and a tea for £6 spot on. Price for round was also very good at £14 with Tee Off Times. Will definitely be back.
Fantastic Day at Charleton Golf Course
Thought for the time of year, the weather over the weekend etc the course was in tremendous condition. Very well looked after and basically had the place to ourselfs so couldn't complain about pace of play. Although very long, it is a challenge and not a bad hole to comment on. Would also like to thank the starter for keeping us in the right direction at the start of the day, thanks.
Outstanding condition for winter
Course provides generous fairways so no need to hold back. Tees, fairways and full greens were all on and the quality of the greens are outstanding for the time of year. If your looking for a good quality course without the usual winter restrictions you'll not be disappointed. Club steward/stewardess made us most welcome. I will certainly be back before the start of the season and probably during the season as well.
Course excellent at this time of year
Really enjoyed course, great condition, especially greens!!
Fantastic winter golf at Charleton GC and a warm welcome from the staff who are very helpful. I will be back here before springtime thanks for a good day
Good&bad
This was 2nd time i have played here last time was excellant, unfortunatley this time i had bookd 9.42 tee time, got there well early went into clubhouse around 9.20 to report in,was then asked by the starter if there was any chance i could go off a bit earlier as there was a members medal on,even tho i had went onto teeofftimes when i arrived there and seen apart from the time i had there were ,times available at 9minute intervals at least 6 spaces before my time and around 10 after my time, work that one out for yourself, all them times available on tee off times but a members medal on,very strange.so i felt a bit cheated having to rush onto the ter and get away, not a good start to my round, shame because the course is lovely and great value
Worth a visit
If you want to play a mature(ish) course for a reasonable price this is worth a visit. Has a couple of excellent holes with very few ordinary ones.
