Linlithgow Golf Club
About
Above Scotland's Royal Burgh town of Linlithgow sits the Linlithgow Golf Club, featuring 18 holes amid farmland and hills, and views of the Ochil Hills, Union Canal and Forth Valley. It's about midway between Edinburgh and Glasgow. The golf course measures 5,851 yards - short enough to not do too much damage to the legs, long enough to require well-planned golf shots.
A round of golf at the Linlithgow Golf Club kicks off on Drambuie, a par-4 333-yard hole that plays short and straight, with a fairway that slopes down with minimal hazards. Things get increasingly tougher: By Deli's Dio, the ninth hole, you're looking at a long par 4, measuring 420 yards. The 18th, Union Canal, is another long par 4, measuring 413 yards, where you'll need to shoot a short carry over a ravine to reach an undulating tree-lined fairway - there's that canal, too, to keep things interesting.
The Linlithgow Golf Club clubhouse offers a lounge and restaurant for dinner, drinks, lunch and snacks.

Frosty Linlithgow
It was -2'C and I was looking just to get a swing and a walk. There was only another 2 ball on the course. The course was on winter greens which meant I didn't take my putter out my bag. Also it was playing really short. I didn't need my driver until the 9th hole, with a lot of the par 4s playing around 250 yds and with frost 3 wood was the choice on those. The back 9 played a lot better with the 2 par 5s in play and the longer par 4s. I get a buzz out of long drives so getting 50 yd run on a drive was quite satisfying
Challenging course
Signature hole 17 par 3 was special. The two par 5's together were pretty stunning. The pro shop staff was very accommodating. Overall it was a very good experience.
Excellent greens, tough walk
Single handicap golfer…..
Staff in the Pro shop couldn’t have been friendlier when we arrived. Pace of play was excellent, 2 ladies in front of us but we didn’t have to wait once. Course is a little short but very undulating. A few big climbs which may provide troublesome for anyone with a dodgy back or dodgy knees.
The courses itself was a great test of golf though, the fairways were lovely and the greens were probably the best I’ve played on in a good few years. Hats off to the green staff (especially with the weather we’ve had recently)
What we paid for the round was probably just about fair. The membership fees are however, very expensive in my opinion. Not going to attract any new members in the current financial climate charging £60-£70 a month for membership. I was seriously considering moving clubs while playing the course… until I heard what the fees were!
Overall though, a good course, great views, excellent greens and a good test of golf! ⛳️ 👍🏻
Hilly course but with some great holes
At times a challenging course for the average golfer due to significant slopes limiting the ability to hit FIR. The back 9 is more forgiving than the front, with a couple of nice open parkland style holes.
The course was in a good state and bunker sand was playable unlike some courses at this price point. Standard of greens varied slightly but was generally very good.
Practice area immediately at the club house was a bit limited and the club house wasn't fully open on the Sunday.
Would play again.
Hilly but worth it
The condition of this course is great especially for this time of year. A bit hilly but that made it for me lots of undulating fairways and would benefit from playing a few time, I will definitely be back . Staff are fantastic very helpful and friendly. Friendly members spoke to a few people before during and after the round all very helpful. Marked down slightly as the 18 was under repair.
Course should have been closed
The course should have been closed was dangerous golf balls were like bouncing off concrete and going in any direction due to the ice
Because it’s a hilly course I was slipping everywhere and could have seriously hurt myself
Pace of play I was behind a 2 balls that wouldn’t let me through and were very slow (probably because of the ice)
Another enjoyable visit
Returned for my 3rd time . Was every much enjoy as the previous times . Absolutely loved it . Again conditions were great even with the recent change in weather . Work had been carried out on the greens but still very much playable . Great coarse
Great Local course at a fantastic orice
Friendly staff met us on arrival. Course pace of play was great and members even offered out hints and tips on some of the trickier, blind holes. Back to bar par 3’s and par 5’s made for an interesting few holes, something a little different too!
Not the longest course either so perfect for a quick round.
5* will be back.
poor green conditions
I booked a hot deal friday 8th september for tuesday 13th september for 3 guests paid £15.99 eqch I checked the next day to see if the other spot had been taken and found the price was reduced to £13.99 oer person the course was in good condition we were informed that maintenance work was being done the greens were in terible condition they had just been spiked so putting was not great i have played this course a few times but the conditions were not as bad i would recomend this course during the summer months
Great course
Absolutely loved my round . The coarse was in really good condition . Great mixture of holes from challenging to holes you can score well in . Layout was great and enjoyed the pace of the greens . My second time playing the coarse and would definitely play it again . Staff really nice from pro shop to clubhouse . Very welcoming Thankyou …
Good course but some poor fairways.
The course was generally interesting a good challenge and pleasurable to play but spoiled by some very rough or almost non-existent fairways and subsequent weird bounces and lost balls despite decent shots. A shame as spoiled an otherwise good course.
Very nice course
After going to the wrong area with the postcode from this website.
Course conditions great and greens immaculate.
Bar area great and football on TV, all and all a fantastic day.
