Linlithgow Golf Club
About
Above Scotland's Royal Burgh town of Linlithgow sits the Linlithgow Golf Club, featuring 18 holes amid farmland and hills, and views of the Ochil Hills, Union Canal and Forth Valley. It's about midway between Edinburgh and Glasgow. The golf course measures 5,851 yards - short enough to not do too much damage to the legs, long enough to require well-planned golf shots.
A round of golf at the Linlithgow Golf Club kicks off on Drambuie, a par-4 333-yard hole that plays short and straight, with a fairway that slopes down with minimal hazards. Things get increasingly tougher: By Deli's Dio, the ninth hole, you're looking at a long par 4, measuring 420 yards. The 18th, Union Canal, is another long par 4, measuring 413 yards, where you'll need to shoot a short carry over a ravine to reach an undulating tree-lined fairway - there's that canal, too, to keep things interesting.
The Linlithgow Golf Club clubhouse offers a lounge and restaurant for dinner, drinks, lunch and snacks.

Friendly club
First time playing great value for money short but hard course , very friendly and helpful at pro shop couldn’t do enough for us will be back
Excellent course and great food.
Played the course on Bank Holiday Monday and had lunch in the bar beforehand. Bar / restaurant staff were very friendly and the food was excellent and plentiful - would definitely recommend a visit before or after a round. The course itself is one to be enjoyed. Good mix of interesting holes with the par 3 17th just a fun hole to play. Condition of the course was very good. Will definitely play again soon.
Brilliant Golf Club!
Played myself on a Wednesday afternoon weather was warm and sunny, as soon as I arrived I was welcomed by a member of staff who took time to have a chat with me before taking me out and talking me through the course. The course upon first inspection seems like an opportunity for a lower score, but don’t be fooled it’s a tricky 18.
Precision off the tee is required to keep the score credible. When I reached the 14th, a member (Mike I believe?) asked if he could play in with me. He told me some history about the club and how a large group of members volunteered on Tuesday and Thursday’s too help keep the green in top condition.
Well kept course and greens were very good for the time of year. Views were excellent as well!
Finishing the round I was offered into the clubhouse for late lunch and to mix with the members who a few stopped to ask if I was new etc.
Overall a lovely experience which I thoroughly enjoyed. The members and the staff in the pro shop are a credit to the club which makes me highly recommend this club to any one looking to play a round in the area!
Great course run bad
The course itself it a grey layout and on full greens is great.
But the winter greens are in playable tiny and not cut well. And the worst part is the club house was shut and when we asked a member he said the pro hasn’t been opening it untill around 12? Which in the winter is around the last tee off time so pointless.
So no starter which means anyone can walk on and play at anytime really
Has alot of potential
Played here a few times and usually enjoy the trip from Edinburgh. Course is a nice wee challenge and usually in good condition. However, be aware that if you tee off before 12 the shop isn't open. So make sure you have snacks and drinks with you, as well as balls and tees. Disappointed not to even be able to collect a scorecard. We weren't aware the shop didn't open till this late(seems a bit silly as if you're playing 18 you won't be teeing off much later than 12 at this point of the year)we were actually told by a member. We also weren't made aware it was 18 winter greens(it wasn't raining and was iver 10 degrees). We were also informed by said member(no updates on the website). So a little bit disappointed today, think we will stick to playing here during the warmer months from now on. Just wee changes that would go a long way for this course.
Another fantastic coarse
Really enjoyed our round on Sunday . Coarse was in great condition. Layout of coarse was great . Some holes challenging and some there for scoring well . Pace of the greens were good overall coarse was in great shape . Loved it will definitely be back to play coarse again
Linlithgow visit
Course was in great condition especially the greens, well watered given the recent hot weather.
Some quirky holes but very enjoyable.
Great staff in pro shop and bar afterwards, made to feel very welcome as a visitor, not always true of all courses but this club was extremely welcoming and will definitely return and recommend.
Cracking Course
A very good course with varying degrees of difficulty.
Lovely well kept course
Lovely course. Great holes and fabulous greens. Unfortunately we were rained off so unable to complete our round
Matched with another 2 ball
Reasonable Round, but club had a competition on. The person in the Pro shop was not happy to find we had booked. He paired us with another two ball but we let them go ahead of us. Club should not allow bookings at the course when a competition is on. Our tee time was 6 pm but a number of players arrived after that time.
Poor
Made to feel like a second rate citizen for booking through GolfNow. The staff were immediately unfriendly and had double booked our tee time so forced our two ball to play with another two ball (who were equally unhappy).
Play was very slow on a lovely evening.
Course was very hilly and not in great condition, some greens in terrible condition, especially given the recent good weather.
Would not recommend.
Good Course
In the main the course was in excellent condition however a few greens weren't great with what looked like fertiliser burns on them in large areas.
Overbooked and slow round
After being paired with another 2 ball because the course was busy, we let the other pair play first. The club had not removed the tee times from Golfnow as there was a competition on and 4 balls we’re teeing off up till 7pm. Once underway, the pace was a bit slow due to the congestion on the course. The course played ok, but the greens were badly maintained. The rough was very thick and unforgiving (peak growing season) so anything off the fairway was usually lost. All in all a reasonable round, but some basic admin management would reduce the over booking and subsequent congestion.
