Deer Park Golf and Country Club
About
Deer Park Golf and Country Club, considered among Central Scotland's top golf courses, offers a 6,727-yard course that has hosted British Open Qualifiers as well as the Scottish PGA Championship. Facilities include range, putting green, pro shop, showers, locker rooms. Deer Park has earned its rep in the Scottish golf world.
Deer Park Golf and Country Club spans natural parkland. It's a relatively new golf course despite its honors. Peter Allis, Dave Thomas and Peter Clark designed it in 1978. It quickly ascended the Scottish ranks, especially when compared to the century-plus-old courses that fill Scotland.
Deer Park Golf and Country Club offers a whole day's activities, with a health-and-fitness center, 10-pin bowling, bars and restaurants - even weddings, if you want to fit one in between rounds.

Nice course
Nice course to play, relatively flat. Nice layout in lovely condition. The 15th is a hard hole into the wind but a good test. Enjoy the course very much & would defo play again
Really enjoyed it.
Considering all the rain we’ve had the course was in great condition. First time playing it and I was impressed. Great price too.
A good mix of different types of holes. I will definitely be back.
Facilities let course down
All winter greens but there had been very heavy rain over the preceding 24-48hrs, pro shop was very welcoming & generally excellent all round. Fairways were in good condition though occasionally quite wet in places. Following our round we visited the really nice & very comfortable lounge which offered a decent range of bar food options with a good choice of draught beers & some very nice single malts at reasonable prices. Where it all fell down was the staffing, there was only one member of staff on the bar - she appeared to be responsible not only for serving the bar but also for making & delivering specialty coffees, taking food orders; delivering these to the kitchen & delivering all cutlery, condiments & food to customers at their tables. The result of this was that for lengthy periods there were no staff to be seen & at one stage there was a queue of eight people standing waiting to be served at the bar. Deer Park is a very nice parkland course (the full greens look very well cared for) with some interesting challenges & our overall experience was relatively positive. I can see myself playing it again in the spring & as such would recommend the golf but I couldn’t in all conscience recommend the clubhouse.
Wasn't told winter greens were in play
Me and my friends thought the course was OK it had some really good views the pro was absolutely fine but didn't mention it was winter greens.the course has a good layout and had some nice holes but be prepared for a long walk, the marking between holes could have been better all in all it was an OK course but we were slightly disappointed(will possibly try next summer and it might be different who knows)
Great tricky course
Very relaxed front nine, easy walking and fairways where lovely as was the greens for this time of year. Back nine was great too, the hills on the 14 and 15 are tough and can certainly wreck a score card but all in all a fantastic course I'm very local so will probably end up a member I enjoyed it that much.
Fog delayed play
Fog delayed play but only by an hour and very nice coffee and rolls while waiting
Sun came out and had a great round great variety of holes and approaches course in great bit of sand on greens as expected but nothing to spoil the round
Thanks guys
Great course
Highly recommend this course. Great facilities and course maintained really well. Can’t beat the price either. We’ll be back!
Great Value
Great course! Very good value for money, staff were welcoming, very helpful and friendly. The course was in great condition, the tee off was on time and well organised. We had a great day and we will be back!
Wonderful example of a golf course
Played it after trying over 30 courses local to Glasgow and by far the best maintained course so far this year apart from Dundonald, not one soft spot of ground throughout and I did zig zag a few holes just incase I missed anything, greens run true, no patches.
Mixed bag
Myself and a friend played the course today and was looking forward to it after reading previous reviews. We attended the pro shop where we asked about the condition of the course to be told “ermm i think there is a couple of winter greens, but not sure” helpful start! No scorecard was offered, we had to ask for this even though he asked if we had been before, however we tee’d off and played the course and the full course was on winter greens, we went and looked at every green and i’m baffled as to why they were on winter greens, they were immaculate and not wet, and no previous cold spell at all. Overall disappointing, however i believe it will be a nice course in the summer.
7 or 8 winter greens on when didn’t really need to
Winter Rules!!!
Booked with no idea there would be any winter rules. Need clearer notice to advise when winter rules are in play. On arrival pro shop couldn’t even tell us how many greens where going to be on. Got the feeling of that’s the rules like it or lump it you’ve paid now, no suggestion of a refund when I said we weren’t really interested in playing winter rules and wouldn’t have booked if we had know. Was told it is on website 2 off our group checked but notice isn’t prominent and none of us seen it. Played this course a couple of times and always in good condition. 1st negative experience I’ve had there
Excellent
First time playing the course. Friendly excellent staff. Course in great condition and good value for money. Will be back
Great value for money
A long walk but worth it with a great variety of holes. Course was baked after recent dry spell, but greens held up well.
Round in 98
I arrived at the course early to be informed that two other people had booked the same time slot which happens with Hot deals on Golf Now. However, as there was space I was allowed to T off early. The course was in really good condition and I ended up eaqualing my best score for the round.
