First time
Took the trip with my brother in law and made reservations online for us. We played the back 9 and before hand hit two buckets of balls on the range. First off #11 & 18 good luck finding your ball because the range is between these two and the average player level seen from us at this range can’t hit the red side of a barn. We started right on time and within the first two holes let a solo play through. The duration of the night we were on his tale and we had a trio on ours. Nothing like a rushed game. Onto the course , yes, it is a challenge. Lots of water, sand and turns/hills. The only complaint I can say about the course itself is some of the greens needed to be patched up badly. One suggestion I can make for play style improvement would be to add a small map on the back of the scorecard maybe, I can’t express the anger I had on one hole when I missed the stone with the map and had no idea where to hit. The staff was awesome, cheerful and fun. The food and beer was amazing and the other players seemed to have great personalities. Overall it was a great experience but I believe with a couple minor improvements it could be 100x better.
5/6 somes?
We were making the turn and looked up to see groups of what we believed to be members sitting on the tee box.... We roll up and they ask if we were told to go off the front as well... No we wee we making the turn, and then they continue to play on with their massive groups a ead.
Golf outing with my boss
Weather wasn't to bad on that day, so I couldn't blame that. A lot of the greens really needed some work done to them. The grass was mowed nice, and the fairways were in good shape as well. I guess all and all I would go back later on this summer.
Good Course
Early spring round. Grass has just begun to grow. Course is definitely challenging - long. Sand traps are plentiful, but need additional sand. Greens are firm & undulating. Overall, good value for the price.
Locust Hill GC- nice place for the right price
Locust Hill shows evidence of recent improvement efforts and is worth a visit if the price is ~ $35.
Slow play needs addressed
Played a 4:45 round yesterday and it wasn’t crowded, just one foursome slow playing. An occasional marshal would help.Probably my favorite course overall though.
Locust Hills
Started on 10. Had a single in front of us and one behind. tried to let the one behind play through and he did then the single joined up with twoesome in front of him. 15 minutes later another single came cruising up around us and joined the now threesome which made a nice foursome. They then proceeded to not let anyone play through. We were over 2 hours for 7 holes then called it quits. Not the first time this has happened here, no marshalls and no common courtesy at this course. I will stick to some 9 hole trips during the week but never again on a weekend here.
Cold and windy!
It was cold and windy but hey, its January and I am playing golf! Love this course with all of its challenges and water holes! Always friendly and great staff! And i only donated 1 ball to the water gods! Try to play here at least twice a month. Course in good shape considering it is January!
Geting Better
The more I play this course, the better I am able to read the fairways and greens. A fun course to play that takes awhile to really get a feel for. Always enjoy my round here!
This is a fun course
The more I play the more I enjoy it. A few water holes on the back nine which are a lot of fun to navigate. I usually donate a ball or 2 to the water gods! Love the layout of this course. Do note lots of geese poop around so wear your old shoes!
