The Promised land
We play Canaan usually from June through September when the weather is somewhat warmer and more predictable. We use our VIP cards to save about 30 dollars on the round. Replay rate for 9 is reasonable. This course is fun because it is open with large greens-- the anti- Lakeview in Morgantown. It is well-maintained and the greens are smooth and medium quick. Fairly flat, but does have some elevation variety to keep it interesting. The wind is the great equalizer, as it seems to always blow into your face on the tough finishing holes. Basically a grip it and rip it venue that's very enjoyable. Don't expect any luxurious amenities in the clubhouse. Nearby town of Davis has some locally owned restaurants. Course has a nice driving range. I've seen bears on a couple of occasions.
Amazing greens!
Outstanding vistas and greens. Few trees, but tough in other ways. The greens build confidence — very true, not difficult to read, and smooth with good speed. This high valley n the most untainted can bring strong winds on occasion.
