Well worth a visit
Fair test of golf with good mix of holes kept in first class condition. Welcoming staff at pro shop and in clubhouse. Well worth a visit.
Haddington Golf Course
Lovely course. Even in winter condition and all the rain we’ve had, it still played very well. Can’t wait to try it out in the summer!
Wet golf
A fair amount of water on the course after a couple of days of heavy rain. Some greens very wet, a lot of mud around tee boxes due to heavy footfall.
But an enjoyable and challenging round of golf.
Would Not Recommend
The only positive I took away from visiting this course was the friendly staff.
The course itself is pretty dire. There is mud everywhere so no matter if your ball lands in the fairway or the rough, it will be covered in mud. The grass on the fairways was too long and the greens were like the surface of the moon as well as being spongey underfoot. I think drainage is a huge issue for this course. There was also a real lack of character for most of the holes as the par 4's and 5's all look and feel the same. Very straight and flat without much going on. The bunkers are poorly kept with not much sand and the occasional tuft of grass growing out of them. There was a few mats to play off on the teeboxes but the teeboxes that were grass were either uneven, lacking grass or had small stones that would mark the bottom of clubs.
The only challenge a good golfer would face is not knowing where the ball is going to roll on the green due to how uneven the putting surfaces are. Other than that it would be a walk in the park for anyone at or around scratch.
Enjoyed playing this course
I feel this course was really good value.
Very poor quality
Two wet to be playing this course water everywhere
Condition of course very poor grass to long on fairways bunkers had grass groowning in the middle of them. I did call asking if the course was play able and it was in no condition to be playing last weekend
Poor course and very wet
Course was far to wet to play on today water everywhere. Fairways? Very long. Not like a golf course Bunkers full of water and a good few greens waterlogged could do with coffee after 4pm
Great greens
Course lovingly looked after and the greens were great, light sanding but no coring
Haddington g c
Fairways could have been cut( understable with the rain a few days prior) greens were in excellent condition, staff friendly, only down side was being pushed along by a two ball who had missed their tee time. Two mats in play could have been on a level surface but very enjoyable coarse to play.
Haddington Has Potential
Course itself is a fairly easy challenge. Great layout, fantastic last few holes. The practice facilities are good, chipping area could improve. The condition of the greens, tees and bunkers were a real
Let down. Really poor and looked like some were diseased. Overall I’m not sure I would return unless I hear of a real improvement on the overall condition.
Fabulous parkland course
Loved playing this course. Excellent value with the Hot Deal. Well signed from green to next tee. As a 3-ball we ended up letting a couple of smaller groups through but still finished in 4 hours. Thoroughly recommend playing Haddington.
Very good course, well worth a visit.
Excellent day, playing a great course. This was the first time I have played Haddington and, in general, the course was in great condition. Some very nice holes with good putting surfaces. Definitely worth a visit.
Nice parkland course
Played Haddington on a wet day and the course still played really well the greens where still really good with some challenging holes I will definitely be back for another wee round
