Nice course to play
Really enjoyed playing this course again. First time playing since changes made, prefer the new layout. Had a lot of rain beforehand, so was a bit boggy but still enjoyed it
Haddington GC
Played Haddington GC today and I have to admit the greens there are stunning, smooth fast and firm just brilliant. Sadly the tees were suffering and in muddy condition with winter mats in play on a few holes, seems like the worms are in party mode at the moment along with some of the shaded areas of the course.
Still thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks
Haddington
Haven't played the course in a long time but was well worth the trip. As like most course's I've played recently the bunkers are basically gur because of covid. I never used the clubhouse but enjoyed the course and layout.
Tee signage
Directions to next tees could be improved. For example after 3rd green the 4th tee is poorly signposted.
Parkland course with good variation only 3 par 3s
Excellent course worth playing greens very consistent tidy overall appearance
windy
Course holes changed since we last played. Bunkers were poor with weeds growing in them.
Great day out
This was a spur of the moment decision while on holiday.
When I arrived at pro shop staff were brilliant getting me fixed up with cards and a bucket of balls for driving range.
Course was in great condition (my game wasn't) members were a friendly bunch all in all a great experience.
Due to having leave immediately after my game I could not really grade the clubhouse but the bits I seen were fine (locker room and toilet) and all vivid measures were in place and clearly marked
Worst slow play I've ever seen
Our tee time was 4.22, walked to the tee at 4.20, 4 ball was still on the tee. We could see they had some beginners in their group, driving 40 yards off the tee so thought we will get to play through at some point. They were raking about in the rough looking for a ball for about 6-7 minutes whilst we stood on the tee, by this time another group were behind us waiting to tee off. They were eventually out of range so we played. When we finished the hole they were still only 50 yards off the tee, no offer to play through at all. This pattern went on for all 18 holes, we waited on most tees whilst they looked for balls in the rough. The group behind us walked off the course! We eventually got finished struggling to see the ball as it was dark. We were a 2 ball, having played Haddington several times over the last 3 months, averaging 3 hours a round. This took us 4 hours and 10 minutes. Completely ruined the experience and unfortunately I doubt we will return after this.
A surprise new layout
The course played ok, the greens need some TLC, the pace was good, it took us under 3 and half hours with a four some in front. I did find the cost of hiring a buggy on the expensive side, £26, if it is an necessity for a player to hire one and they have proof of being disabled, there should be some relief or discount.
Had it in
Very warm welcome when I arrived from staff at the Pro shop.
Explained layout of course which had changed recently, Garmin watch had not been updated to new layout, so had to switch off)
Tees were well marked out, fairways were in good condition although a lot of unreplaced divots throughout the course.
Greens were excellent and the best I had putted for a while.
Some interesting holes and really enjoyable time playing.
I would recommend playing here to anyone.
