Horrendous Shape
I played this course three years ago and it was in comparable shape to its sister course, Lakeview, which is immaculate. Today, it was a cow pasture. “Fairways” looked like they hadn’t been cut in at least a week and were extensively damaged, my partner and I had to call anything under 8 feet a gimme on the unplayable greens, and the rough was higher than it would be at the US Open. On top of the terrible conditions, a groundskeeper cut a new hole into #9 green during our approach in the middle of the afternoon. The round wasn’t worth $10 let alone $23. I will not be back and recommend everyone else stay away as well.
Please take care of the course
This course is a great track, especially for the value, but it has been overrun with neglect. Even at the beginning of the season, it was an absolute steal especially compared to Lakeview...but now, I’d rather play one of the cheaper courses in town so I can at least get a decent hitting surface.
Some holes are better than others, but those others include equally overgrown and dead fairways, damaged greens, and ugly tee boxes.
Plus, the filled-in bunkers are past GUR — they’re ground perpetually under repair.
Mountain View Course
Displeased with the course. This used to be a beautiful course when I started playing it years ago. It is awful now. Fairways and tee boxes in bad shape. Greens are average with very limited care. Too many divots where nobody repairs. No course management no Marshall’s Clubhouse is very limited This place used to rival its sister course (Lakeview) but now is just another course with limited care to it. I will not recommend this course anymore even though it $25 . Also, scheduled theu golf now and when I showed up at the course I had to pay because my booking did not go thru. Very disappointed and will not go back
Needs a lot of work
The staff was kind and helpful when we arrived. We set out for a round of golf early in the morning. The fairways were needing grass. The cart paths need a lot of work. Most of the greens had large bad stops on them. The tee boxes were lacking grass most of the time. By the time we got to 18 we had had enough golf at this course. The course was at one time a beautiful place to play but not now.
I’ve played here many times
The weather hasn’t been ideal of late, so I understand the difficulty in maintaining the fairways and greens. Some areas were burnt and others were pretty shaggy, but that’s totally understandable. My only real complaint was that whoever placed the flags needs to pay attention to the colors. If red means front, don’t put it in the back or a good shot quickly becomes very disappointing.
Don’t waste your time
This course sucked, there is no other way to say it. The worst thing about this course is the course maintenance. Dead spots on the green, dead grass on tee boxes, sand traps with grass in them. It all sucked. You will hit a ball in the fairway and then some how not find it. So many plug spots scattered around the fairways and the greens might as well been a kart path.
Burnt
Have played this course many times, have never seen it in this bad of shape. Tee boxes, fairways and greens all burnt. Will not play here again.
Course needs Maintenance
Some greens were burnt, some had huge gouges taken out of them and looked as if there was fungus growing on them. Fairways were nice and running some, ruff was ok and the tee boxes were nice.
The day I played was very hot and humid, the grounds person was busting his butt trying to keep all the greens watered but the staffing was minimal.
I have played this course for many years and can say that this was the worst I have seen it, hope it improves.
Resort course ????
Doublewide trailer as the clubhouse for a resort course. Poorly cut fairways, many blind tee shots, and blind second shots. The greens were the best part of the course. Drove an hour and a half to play. Will not be back.
Needs Water
A lot of the Tee boxes and Greens are burnt, this could be due to reduced staffing.
The greens have divot like holes, the plugs from moving the hole location are coming out.
Best part at this time were the fairways, just as i remembered them.
Could use a rangers presence
Tee’d it up at 9 am; group in front of me was late teeing off, and let me play through on the second tee box no issue there, played the next 3 holes no delays before getting behind 5 groups stacked up, the first two said I was more than welcome to play through as they were waiting on the groups in front of them then the next two groups were another story they were playing a scramble and taking forever, wouldn’t let anyone play through even as everyone stacked in behind them heading to the back nine, I called the clubhouse to ask for a ranger to come out while there were 5 groups over two holes and was told there was only one person working at the course and they couldn’t help. Ended up having to skip 1 hole to get around the two groups holding up play and was smooth sailing from there, doesn’t seem like too much to ask for a ranger on a busy Sunday morning.
The Redheaded stepchild
The obvious "Other" course at Lakeview has some good golf to offer. If you are an average golfer, it might be too difficult to have fun at. When I played, the rough hadn't been mowed for quite a while and it was an aggravation. Narrow fairways on some holes, unique shapes to greens without a lot of size to them. With the right person, this is a fun day.
Course has good features
Been coming to this course for about 8 years now. Layout is good and you have to know where to position your tee ball to score I like this course a lot and the the price is right. It’s still early in the season and I know the staff is trying to cut the grass and fix the greens but I believe the course will be back up to par in a few weeks if the rain stops. It was wet in spots but that is understandable the way the weather has been. I recommend this course to anyone that likes a challenge
