The Dunes At Maui Lani Golf Course

Toughest course ever played: So many blind shots, uber-raised greens so only see top of flag, zillions of sand traps with compacted sand too hard to hit out of, trees often blocking your shot, up and down hills, and wind of course. But beautiful otherwise. Just prepare to be humbled golf-wise.
Also no water available on back nine and no drink service

The course is very playable, well kept. The price is nice for Hawaii standards.

This course is great. The carts are new, the staff is friendly, and you will have a good time there!

This was a great course. It’s in great shape from tee to green. The staff was friendly and helpful. We went back the next day. The wind really picks up in the afternoon, but that makes it fun too.

Great course with beautiful views. The only thing is that it closes at 6:00 so evening tee times make it difficult to get 18 in.

The back nine is very challenging, and full of surprises for a first time player. Greens are in great condition.

The course is beautiful and well maintained, my only complaint is with the course marshal. Just before 5pm he rolled up on us while we were playing the 13th and told us to skip 2 holes so he can start closing down
And stayed behind us to make sure skipped 14th and 15th.
Carts did have to be in by 6 as sunset end of June is 7:20 pm.

Other than the all too common pace of play woes that impact golf today, The Dunes at Maui Lani is a truly enjoyable golf experience. The fairways are wide yet hold many terrain challenges. The irregulary shaped greens are are well maintained. Simply put, golf here is fun.

Trades were really blowing which made it hard to judge clubs plus lots of elevation changes. Don’t be afraid to move up a tee box as distance is deceiving with wind and elevation. Still a fun course to play.

It is a tough course especially with the wind. We were stuck behind a slow twosome with no one in front of them. They would not want to let anyone play through and often hit multiple balls off the tee. It took over 4 hours for the round. Way too long for twosome. They need to send someone one to move slow people along or let people play through. Otherwise, the experience was average.

Great course, great staff, great facility. The first 9 holes were much easier than the second 9 holes. Lots of uneven lies on the back 9 and fairways were a bit more narrow..

This course has mostly wide fairways. Pace of play was very fast. The sand was not consistent or well maintained. It seemed that many people do not take the time to rake the traps. The greens were in excellent condition. The fairways not so good. Food afterword was GREAT!

We play this course when we are in Maui b/c good value. Greens and facilities are adequate. No GPS on golf carts.

This seems like a fun course but they are crooks. They let me schedule a 4.25 tee time. I arrive they take my money, then tell me I have to be done by 6 pm. I say well then don't charge me full rate he says I can't these are the rules play as many holes as you can. I say refund my money he says I can't. I go play and four holes in the guy is on us and says we need to close at six. I say really there is a group of six in front of us. He says oh well, follow me. He escorts us to the tenth tee and says you can play 10 through 12 and head back. We get back and I approach him again and say you really are charging me full rate for 6 holes. He laughed and said yes. In my younger days I would have punched him. Golfnow should not allow them on this site.
