Beautiful Course....other areas need improvement.
Let's start with the good. Course was beautiful and well kept. The driving range was in great shape. The carts dont have sand bottles to repair your divots. That was odd to me but no big deal. They did have port-o-johns every few holes throughout the course. Staff were very friendly. I think management really needs to fix the smell issue inside the clubhouse. It smelled like really bad mildew inside. I ate a brat that day 30 minutes before the tee off and by hole 2 I was looking for the port-o-john. Stomach was cramping horribly bad from the sausage.
3 stars
Bristol Oaks is a great course for less-talented players. We were also allowed to start on the back9 so we would not have to wait for a league where the players showed up a little early due to pending bad weather.
Great layout, constantly improving, becoming must play
Bristol Oaks is fast becoming a must play course in SE Wisconsin. The conditions continue to get better, the layout is fantastic, with a great mix of holes. This year the course went back to its 1964 layout, so now the 18th hole is the 2nd hole from previous years, which is a fantastic dogleg right par 5. There is just enough water and sand to make it a great challenge, but a lot of the difficulty comes in the greens, they can be very tough if you miss them. The practice range is fantastic, with ample space, and the food is amazing. Highly recommend.
Most local course where soaked form the last rain but Bristol Oaks drains well no standing water at all.
Problem with the tee time
We booked our round for 154pm and were told by the ranger with 5 holes to go that we would have to ceded our spot for a shotgun start. They should not have allowed us to book the round if it would not be completed.
Will Play It Again
Was in the vicinity to pick up a camera and booked a round at Bristol Oaks. Course is a little difficult to find the first time, but is worth the effort. Rain had covered the area the previous two days and course was quite soft, but greens were moderate to fast. Not a lot of water in play, but plenty of bunkers to protect the greens. Will play there again when I'm in the area. Good value and course is in superior condition.
Great family oriented course..Nice place in the country
I played with my beginner golfer daughters and wife so the slow pace didn't bother us. It would have if I played with guy friends. Nice cart beverage service, halfway house and friendly club house. Nice bar but we couldn't stay. Okay practice tee. Nicely located short women's tees was a huge plus for us. The trees, rolling hills, and non home lined course was beautiful.
Great value hot deal but regular rate is a great value also.
had fun but was wet rained overnight no carts
Had to walk no cart paths here but it was ok good work out. A few hills but no big deal. A nice course will go back some time when it is better dry day. I had played it in the past but realized it when I started playing. It has some very nice holes and good to play.
Fun Round at Bristol Oaks
The round was fun; The course layout has been slightly changed for the better.
Excellent
The course was in much better shape than I remember it over the last several years. Changing the course layout makes sense. It was very enjoyable, the weather was perfect and the foursome was great.
No food was available but it is still early in the year.
Plan on playing it again next week.
