Bristol Oaks Golf Club and Banquet Center
About
Bristol Oaks Golf Club and Banquet Center is situated just 30 minute from the suburbs of both Milwaukee and Chicago. It is popular among locals for being one of the area's best values. Despite its convenient location, the course feels tranquilly secluded thanks to the miles of picturesque countryside surrounding it. Mature trees dot the rolling landscape, coming into play along the fairways and framing most of the holes. Water hazards come into play on four holes. Strategically placed bunkers are also lurking near most of the greens. The golf course is challenging but offers a playability that makes it appealing to a range of skill levels. Four diverse sets of tees make it even more approachable. There is also a lighted grass driving range and expansive chipping and putting areas available at Bristol Oaks Golf Club and Banquet Center.

Pleasant surprise
This was my first time playing Bristol Oaks despite living in the area for many years. I will be back. An attractive layout with enough variety to make things interesting. In very good condition despite the heavy rains recently.
Course great shape
Played their Friday. Was pleasently surprised at how dry the course was after all that rain. Course is in great shape.
Play is slow
Nice course, but play is too slow to enjoy a round. It took 4.5 hours to play 16 holes, at which time we bailed.
Bristol Oaks - good value
Staff was friendly and helpful, Marshal kept pace of play moving at a good rate, course was in good shape considering all the rain we have had, we played clean and place and had no other problems with course. An enjoyable afternoon.
Course was in good shape. Good value for the money. I wish it was little warmer.
MUCH improved over last year
They have repaired their mower and have cut the rough to a manageable length where you can not only find your ball, you can actually hit it. The greens were in nice shape also.
A good day for golf
Golfed 18 on a Tuesday late morning/early afternoon. I am not a great golfer so it was nice to play at my own pace with not many people behind me rushing my every shot.
Bristol Oaks is Back
I played Bristol Oaks last year and thought to myself what happened here? I receive their emails and read how a new GM and Superintendant were aboard. I gave Bristol Oaks another chance. All I can saw is please go and check it out! For April the conditions were in the best shape than the last 3 years.
Great value, Friendly staff
Very enjoyable experience. The course was well maintained and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Some challenging greens.
Bristol Oaks
Shorter type of course with several holes that gives just about everyone a chance at birdie. The course doesn't drain very well so it takes a few days longer than other course to dry out. Call and check if they are letting carts out. I purchased online with cart included only to find out on arrival they were not allowing carts out. The course is very walkable so it wasn't the end of the world.
Should Be Better
This review reflects a season's impression. Played this course many times over the past several years. In of itself I can enjoy it. But in last year or so it's just becoming an aggravating experience. Pace of play is awful more often than not. Management allows people to cut in on 3 and it almost always creates a back up. Then because of that others cut in on 10. So it never ends. The rough as many have commented has become ridiculous. Keep several balls in your pockets at all times. A tee shot just off the fairway can take 5-10 minutes to locate. Some of the pin placements are nonsense for mid to high handicappers. Which is like gas on fire regarding the pace of play. The staff is friendly enough. But if changes aren't made it will probably fall from my rotation. Barring not be able to get on elsewhere I won't be returning this season. I'll give them a try next year to see if changes were made. I've heard rumors that some of their leagues will be leaving. They really need to start listening to their customers and take action. It's pretty simple stuff. Cut the grass and enforce a policy of no jumping holes and cutting in. Especially on 3.
This course does not read their reviews
I had read reviews of this course before playing there and all reviews held true - the course does not respond to their customers complaints. When I checked in I asked the "kid" in the Pro shop if he has read their reviews on GolfNow? He stated "no" and I said well you should.
We spent too much time trying to find our golf balls than we did playing golf. The rough is way too long and you can't see your ball unless you are on top of it - very frustrating.
We didn't see a beverage cart until the 9th hole - their loss!
Overall I would not recommend this course - will not be retuning any time soon.
Perfect
I booked tee time later than expected and still able to play early in the morning. Very slow through 7 holes but opened up nice after that.
I like having the 100 and 150 yard markers but small stakes in middle of fairway were hard to pick up early in the morning and some even missing.
Tried to sit and eat after round was done. No food available inside and could not find anyone at the outdoor grill on the patio. Went down the road to eat.
Overall a great round of golf with friends and family.
Wonderful layout
We have been to Bristol Oaks several times. It is quite a drive to get there for us, but worth it. The course is maintained very well. The sad thing is that they have lost many trees to the ash borer disease and are in the process of taking them down. This will look like a totally different course when they are done. In no time soon, as there are near 100 trees to be removed. Sad, but they have plenty of pines and oaks to keep the course beautiful.
Good course
Nice golf course that has some challenges but not too tough. It was extremely hot out so I expect some areas to be dried out but it was worse than expected. That would be my only complaint, so a little better care would make it better. Friendly people in the clubhouse and on the course so that was nice.
Way overbooked--long waits--very backed up
This is the second time I played Bristol Oaks. Both times the course was extremely backed up. It was very frustrating to everyone. I asked when we took the turn for the back 9 if everyone was playing 18 and the back ups would continue. I was informed that a mens league was just starting.
There was a ranger when we started, but I wondered why. I saw him driving around the first few holes, but i had no impact. We caught up to a gentleman on the third hole and from that point forward had 5 to 15 minute waits at every hole. We did not even bother to play the full 18 we had paid for.
great day for golf
money great and the course was awesome! enjoyed every hole and will always play there in the future. consider the weather this year every one at bristal oaks has out done them selfs making the course beautiful, playable, look forward to playing again.
