Pine Ridge Golf Club
About
Pine Ridge Golf Club was carved from pine forests in central Long Island. Located in Coram, the course's player-friendly layout is a popular choice for all skill levels. The narrow, tree-lined fairways demand accuracy and the greens are fast and can be hard to read but it's not an overly punishing golf course for high handicappers. The risk-reward opportunities will test your course management and strategic thinking skills. If played smartly, you could find yourself with a birdie, particularly on the two driveable par 4s on the front nine. Several bunkers lurk throughout and water comes into play occasionally as well. You'll also face several sharp doglegs, both left and right. In addition to the golf course, Pine Ridge also offers a practice facility that includes a driving range, putting green, and a large grass teeing area.

Golf Course Plus!
Extremely pleased with Pine Ridge Golf course! Good challenge for a low to mid handicap player. We finished our round about 8pm and we were impressed to see the Pro was holding a putting contest, later to find out it was a weekly affair which included food and beverages. What a Plus for the local community., both golfers and non golfers competing in a fun atmosphere.
Needs some TLC
I like the course but the fairways are chopped up, the bunkers need to be cleaned up and the greens were blotchy. If they ever get a greens keeper in there that knows how to treat a golf course, it would be a top 20 course on the Island. Clean up the leaves and branches that are down everywhere, grow some real grass on the fairways, clean up the bunkers and take care of your greens, please.
Decently nice course and layout. Very nice staff but it took 4 hours to play 9 holes. Yes 4 hours to play 9. My group didn’t play the back 9 and got a rain check for it which the staff had no problem with but it was ridiculous. We will go back to collect our rain check but that will be the last time we go back there. It’s a shame though cause the course is nice and the staff was great.
You get what you pay for
I thought the course, for this time of year was in good shape. It is a public course, so unfortunately many dont take care of it as they should. But, the layout is nice and the price was reasonable. Ill definitely be going back.
Needs work
Pine Ridge is a nice course, with a moderate level of difficulty, but it's in a bit of disrepair. There are bald spots along the fairway, the greens and tee boxes have worn patches.
Walking the course is ok, there are some holes that not set up at the end of the last hole - there's some distance between 2 or 3 of them and you wind up walking for a bit more than you should.
All in all, not a terrible course for the money and there is usually availability.
Course not maintained
This is a nicely laid out course with interesting holes, but the condition of the fairways is abominable. We had no sand on our cart to fill in divits. You wonder if the course is going out of business. I felt insulted seeing split rail fences by the tees falling apart, and the tees themselves full of bald spots. There was no starter to put groups together and keep things moving.
Petew
Too bad the course wasn’t in better condition. The fairways and roofs are terrible. Some tea boxes are horrible. Definitely not some thing that’s worth the time or money.
Disappointment.
I am sorry to say this but Pine Ridge was a huge disappointment. Positives are we were able to play right after a couple of days of rain. We decided to give it a shot because there were no real options early on the day. The course was wet and there were no carts allowed. The course manager called me to let me know it was walking only. That’s a huge positive for customer relations. Greens were a bit slow but in good shape and bunkers were nicely raked and pretty dry. There was a lot of sandy spots off the fairways as usual but the lack of fairway grass and conditions of the tees really were despicable. If there was attention being paid to these faults the place would be a better alternative. They need a total fairway and tee replanting including crab grass management. They should also try to stop the balls from kicking into the tree line. Adding rough should help. Removing underbrush in the woods would help pace of play which from other reviews can be ann issue. Unfortunately it seems these issues aren’t being addressed. Let’s hope they stay open and make the reinvestment to improve a once nice course.
