Poor Staff Drags this Course Down
This course has a lot going for it. Great location, great food, nice layout and reasonable facilities.
The course has nice greens and a lot of doglegs to challenge your ability to move the ball. Some of the fairways are very tight and there is a lot of out of bounds to punish you for being wild. All both fun and frustrating!
I have never been to a course where the staff is so rude. I hoped that my first few experiences there were a fluke and I have gone back and played there with the same results. The last experience, I was actually chased down on the course by one of the pro shop staff and accused of not paying. When I produced my receipt they accused me of picking it out of the trash and escorted me into the proshop with my credit card to verify that it was in their system. Not once did I get an apology for this and my wife and I promptly left the course. I can't imagine going back again unless it is free.
Plays long
The course could use another tee that plays around 5000 yards or so for 18. That would open up more play for women. Seniors would benefit as well.⛳️
Super day late in the season for upstate new york
They did a great job getting the leaves out of play. The day before it rained all day so they had to start the day I played very early to get the leaves out of play
Great shape for late October
Caught a great Hot Deal for my foursome on a warm Fall afternoon. Fairways were in great shape with some leaves in the rough (expected at this time of year). Green had a good speed with a few bumps from a past aeration. Good day had by all.
Excellent condition for fall golf
Excellent condition for fall golf. Even though we were the first group of the day, there were very few fallen leaves on the course, which is a stark contrast to many local courses cutting corners this time of the year. Despite rain over the past few days, the course appeared to hold the water very well and was not saturated whatsoever.
Course in great condition.
Friendly staffs and course is in good condition even after the rain.
Overrated, over priced, over played
Just an annoying course to play. They heavily exaggerate the conditions/type of course. You pay on average the same as premium public courses in the region if not more. Layout is pretty gimmicky but could still be fun if the course was playable. Uneven tee boxes, unraked bunkers full of rocks and footprints from the day before. The greens were punched and they still charged full price. Leaves cover most greens that never get blown off.
Bad greens, unplayable
I wish I knew that the greens were airiated and sanded upon making reservations. The price of $50 was a little high for the conditions. The condition of the greens made play unenjoyable.
Same as I remember
Haven’t played Eagle Vale in quite a few years despite living about a mile away. Course is still in very good shape, and enjoyed playing there again. Will definitely make more trips back there to play.
Nice course slow pace.
Group ahead of had beginners and took 3 hours on the front nine. One of us had to leave after playing nine holes only due to the slow pace. We waited 5-10 on each tee. No reaction from the clubhouse even when we complained. No marshal/ranger to caution the group ahead of us. Not going back.
Slow
Be nice if someone was driving around and watching pace of play. Took us almost 6 hours.
Dave
I've played here twice this month and each time the pace of play has been extremely slow. The tee times are only 7mins apart and both times we did not start on time.
Over Priced But Fine
Golf everywhere is more expensive these days but this course has just never really done it for me. It’s in fine shape, some tee boxes and bunkers could use work. Not the most challenging course most holes with a handful of exceptions are right in front of you.
The facilities are pretty nice with the range and restaurant/snack shop. Staff has always been friendly enough.
The title of the review pretty much sums up my feelings. Fine course, not worth the money in my opinion.
