Great layout
I really enjoy Lyndon. Great prices for senior golfers. You can get a tee time just about anytime you like. It is flat, so you can work your game very well. The course is in great condition, since they get many golfers are coming through. One minor drawback, crossing a very busy road. They traffic is relentless. Be careful. A real gem for a local public course.
Fun
Great place to play if your struggling with your swing...short course, never any use for driver accept 15 &16....flat greens.this couse will get your confidence back!!!!
Good times, Not intimidating
Nice time on a straight forward course. Perfect for my wife and I, as we had not played in several years, and this course is pretty flat and open. Pace of play was good, and we were not being pushed by large crowds. Ground was dry, but should be expected during a drought like period. Will return!
Lyndon course
The conditions were poor as the course was very hard from lack of watering, fairways seemed unidentifiable, greens very hard ball always rolled off. The course does have a good layout and could be nice needs to be watered in summer weather
Long time golfer at Lyndon
I have been playing this course since I was little. I have seen 3 different operators in that time. By far the Kless Myers Golf Co has taken the best care of it while at the same time keeping it the most affordable round of golf in CNY. This course is older than any other public course in Syracuse. The greens right now and for the past two years are better than a lot of places charging twice as much. The fairways do get firm and dry as there is no fairway irrigation only greens....but this does make for longer drives! The carts are also very nice, much better than years ago. Overall I recommend anyone looking for a quick round on a well taken care of and very affordable course go to Lyndon.
Poor course conditions
Poor conditions. Dry course and unmowed. Tee boxes were either rough or dirt.
Smooth greens
Course was nice length for senior golfer. Fairways needed to be cut the day we played. Greens were smooth and interesting with quite a bit of slope.
Backyard Golf
Based on the length of this course my expectations coming in were low. And even those were not met.
The course has the feel of a couple buddies deciding to create a golf course in their backyards. Most of the holes are very short. Most of the greens are small, flat circles that are very slow putting surfaces. One of the holes on the back 9 had a temporary lake from all of the recent rain. The path to two of the holes - #15 & 16? - is a poorly marked dirt trail thru the woods behind the green. Crossing Route 92 at 5 PM is treacherous.
There is a lovely Country Club across the street that looked like a real golf course.
The course was created in 1907 and you would be hard pressed to find a course without standing water with the rain we have had in April. BTW the lovely country club across the street literally costs 2000 times as much as Lyndon to play. Hard to neat a $20 greens fee with cart!!!!
Unfriendly and SLOW
I got to the course and the person working at the desk couldn't find my reservation on the computer and didn't believe I had one for the time I booked despite me showing him the confirmation email. The worker then proceeded to use fowl language about golf now.com and the computer system. He was also unfriendly in general and his wife was asleep in the pro shop with their dog barking at customers. The course had a group of 5 in front of me and a group of 6 in front of them. This short course played 4.5 hours and nobody who worked the course even patrolled or monitored pace of play. This golf course needs to get a clue! I was extremely unsatisfied with my round.
Relaxing round
My wife and I had a great round. Lots of fun Great course to work on your long and short irons.
Great deal
Lyndon has new owners and a nice convenient location for some fun holes. Great place for seniors women and children Shorter course also quicker round. All around great time.
Great practice facility to work out kinks in your game
For ten dollars. U get eighteen and a cart. Best desl around. New owners have done a great job with up keep of the course. Greens are fast. Nice course overall. Great to play a quick round in about three hours.
Short and sweet
Played only the front nine. The front nine involves par fours and threes without water or sand. It made for a quick nine holes. Great for seniors, beginners and others that don't hit the ball far. Club house limited but the staff was welcoming and friendly.
Average condition for public course,
Conditions average, play was fast, Very easy course. Good course for average or below average players, they will have fun playing at this course.
Nice course for beginners. Greens need work
Early years playing the game I played here a lot. Course needs work
Very open. Nice little course.
Tee boxes were small, greens in good shape, fairway grass pretty deep. Signage for the holes could be improved upon. Had to cross a major highway twice to get to holes, somewhat dangerous in a golf cart. Staff was very nice. Liked the front nine much better.
Lyndon is one of the oldest courses in NYS and does not have an irrigation system in the fairways. As everyone is aware we are in a drought this summer and conditions are very firm to say the least. The bright side is your average driving distance should be 20-30yds farther! Thanks for playing @ Lyndon!
