Very Poor Conditions
I can't believe I just paid $45 for a round at this place. I paid online and when I checked in I was told we would have to play the front nine twice. Nothing was posted on their website stating this. There was standing water on some holes unbelievable. The weather was great 70 and sunny. I was getting yelled at by some old guy because I wouldn't hit onto a green that there were other players on. Just a poor day at this place. A lot of old people play here so pace is very very very slow. I think we sat on a fairway 20 minutes waiting for a group of old guys to find their ball. I would NOT recommend this place and a will not return. If all else fails I will be playing Harvest Hill from now on.
Good old traditional golf course!
Course is in great shape with nice fairways and very fast greens that are very challenging. It is worth the drive if you live within 50 miles of Forestville, NY
one of the best courses in western new york t
I think tri county is one of the best courses in western New York a very challenging course the way the greens are set up. My foursome really enjoyed there farthers day
Great condition. Challenging Greens
A very nice course that is well maintained. I like the variety that the holes offer. Elevation changes, water, sand, and some nice risk reward holes. The greens can be very slick. STAY BELOW THE HOLE.
Best course I've played this summer
Had a great time playing Tri-County. Fairways were in excellent condition, play was fast, and the greens took some getting used to because they were faster then what I normally play. Will definitely play again.
KO'd every time..................
This is a heavyweight. Hardest of the WNY publics. On a good day I can shoot under 85 anywhere. Here............95 is good. Greens are all local knowledge. You have to be a regular to understand them. Otherwise a bushel of 3 putts will arrive...........4 putts?
Not much sand but chipping here is easy only if it's uphill. 14 par fours that all vary in many ways.
Someone mentioned lack of rough? Who cares.............place is a gem. Once a year is a mistake, you gotta play 4-6 times here.
Incredibly quick and very sloped greens
After being delayed at the US border, there was no way we were going to make our tee time. We called ahead and told the course this and they said we'll figure something out. When we got there the gentleman said that since we were late our rate was no longer valid(I thought oh oh, he is going to increase price), instead he charged us 5 dollars each LESS..I thought wow, wasn't that a wonderful surprise?
The course is long and hilly. The hazard markers are very well maintained which is very nice to see. My only knock would be that the rough is to short, really no penalty for not hitting fairway.
Overall we really enjoyed our day, the prices in the clubhouse are fair also. Would def go back if I'm in the area again.
Beautiful course
Beautiful course with tough greens. If you are looking for a challenge in your short game, this is a good course to try out.
Great Course
Very challenging course. You need to use good course management. Greens a tricky and fast.
Tough Course, But Challenging and Fun!!
Front nine is loaded with placements shots and back nine is relatively long. Both sides have a hilly terrain so side hill shots are normal. Greens are not easy and require you to place your approach shots below the hole. Greens are like lightning, yet accept approach shots very well. Beware; leave a putt short, it just might roll back to you!! Great value for the money!!
Hilly course
Excellent course. Fairways and greens are exceptionally maintained. The greens are very difficult to read. I look forward to playing Tri-County again. It is a long drive for me but the Golf Now discount made it a deal that i could not resist. I look forward to coming back and trying to improve my score.
Only complaint- parking is limited and the parking lot is very close to the 9th fairway. I hooked my tee shot and with the ball on an uneven lie, I came close to looping my second shot into the parking lot.
1st time here in about 5 years
Every time I play here the overall experience is better than the time before. The fairways are lush, the roughs are moved and consistent and the greens are very fast. Its worth the drive to experience this layout.
bataan death march
poor spacing of players 5 foursomes lined up on 1st tee when we arrived.waited.20 min past our tee time when we did tee off.waited 10 min between almost every shot.not a ranger in sight or a cart server, and this was on an 85* day with an11:30 tee time.Ridiculous, lost interest in this round by the 4th hole.not ONE ranger seen entire day and cart server finally seen as we were playing our 17th hole.
Love this golf course!
I love TCCC. I grew up playing here as a child. The course has definitely improved over the years. A great deal for the golf course. It may seem out in the middle of the country but it is definitely worth it. I love the Friday Fish Fry here as well. We saw a baby fox on the golf course as well.
Nice place to play.
TriCounty is a wonderful golf course. Very nice, challanging, but fair layout. The greens are super tricky but also fun. Some of the elevated greens with steep slope away from the pin can make for a tour put easily.
Unfortunately the pace of play was awful. I have never waited so long to play a round of golf. We only played 14 holes in 4 hours and just couldn't take it anymore. The two groups ahead of us should not have been playing on a course like that. Not much the club can do about that.
Great course, great staff.
Very challenging course, well groomed. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Mature, well kept course!
First time at this course. I know a number of people that are members and many that have played as guests before. Very well maintained and laid out well in respect to the rather hilly topography. I look forward to returning soon and trying to improve my score.
Worth the money
No two holes the same on this course. Once you get to the greens, then the fun begins.
In fairness, we did post an aerification notice on our booking engine and that was run all week. If you did not see it we are sorry but that is not something that we should be penalized for in a review. We also warned anybody who called over the phone for a tee time that we were doing work on the greens.
Standing water was the result of rain over night and throughout the week. We apologize for the rain but sometimes mother nature has her way of causing issues regarding conditions. Im sorry you did not enjoy your day. Please try us agin in the future, we do take these reviews seriously and aim to improve your experience.
