Water water everywhere
This is a nice course with a open layout. There is water on 16 of 18 holes, much of it in play if your shot errs. The staff was friendly and the facilities are fine. The greens are not in very good shape but putts rolled surprisingly true. I would play it again
Greatly Improved
We have played Cimarrone for over four years. During the past year the new owners have invested in the course conditions as well as restaurant/bar. Prices have also risen because the investments, but it’s worth it.
Fairways and greens were in excellent shape.
Great conditions and layout. Best course in area!
Course conditions great, greens very lush, but slow and fairways and tee boxes green and nice. Front 9 slow, waited on every hole, back better as people left after 9. Lots of water, bring extra balls.
Improved a lot
There were a few tee boxes that were really bare. Fairways were in great condition. Greens were slow but very playable. Overall, they’re definitely making some great improvements. Will be back again.
STEVE
Course is in great shape. We played the back nine holes.
The new clubhouse and restaurant is really nice.
Could Be A Great Course
As a player you can't help noticing a few course condition issues that distract from a great layout. First, the pluses. The tees were in good condition and grassy. The fairways were in good condition and fast. The greens were in great condition, held good shots and putted true. What distracts and perhaps the average player is the water that appears on virtually every hole. While what will distract and negatively impact their performance are the bunker traps which lack sand. Grooming silty dirt is not the same as well groomed sand. And not putting sand in the bunker traps is not the same as having waste bunkers and not something you characterize as being an attribute of a "links" course.
Improved
I played here many times they have made significant improvements over the past year. The greens are particularly good. The price has gone up significantly, but I guess it’s worth the improvements.
Great layout and very challenging
If you don't like a challenging golf course with lots of water and sand, you might want to look elsewhere. If you do, you will miss a well-maintained course that will challenge your game. Other than a few wet areas due to irrigation issues, the course is well maintained. The fairways are very lush. The only thing keeping this from being a five-star rating is the speed of the greens. They were very thick and slow. Otherwise, this was an excellent track.
Great Place to golf.
Love this course! All the greens, tee boxes and fiarways were in great condition. The reason I didnt givw it a 5 was the golfcart. Very controlling cart mafe play somewhat longer, slowing us down on the cart path when it was unneccessary.
Course is getting better
Greens in good shape but still very slow. Great layout. Fairways are good as well as the tee boxes. It's worth signing up to play a round....
Best condition in years
Some of the tee boxes could use smoothing/flattening and are beat up in places, but the rest of the course is in the best shape I've seen it in years. Grass on every green! Slow greens, but consistent and roll well. All the remodel work looks to be done, clubhouse and restaurant look great.
Pace
Although we were told that the first two holes were going to be slow it turned out the entire round was a slow pace 5 hours to play
One of the reasons the play at Cimarrone might be slow is because at Cimarrone if you hit a bad shot, you lose a golf ball.
It is an extremely challenging golf course, and certainly worth playing!
Great Again
Cimarrone is back and I couldn’t be happier. For those who want to be challenged, get great service, and not pay triple digits for a round of golf this is the place. New owner has brought it back from the dead from clubhouse to the greens. This is the first season with all new greens so they are slow but so lush and pure. It wasn’t long ago they had more sand on them than the traps. Brand new carts with GPS, Bluetooth speakers, and option to order food is huge. I’m sold, this is my go to course in 2024!
Thank you for the 3-stars and feedback.
